Opened in 1851 as Savannah’s first hotel, The Marshall House underwent a $12 million renovation, completed in 2001, to restore its historical elements and add modern amenities. The Marshall House Hotel Accommodations

All 68 rooms are appointed with modern features, like Internet access and cable TV, while retaining 19th century touches, such as claw-foot tubs and pine floors. Most popular are six second-floor rooms and one suite that open onto a wrought-iron veranda, complete with rocking chairs and ceiling fans.

At 45 Bistro, one of Savannah’s most highly acclaimed eateries, daily complimentary continental breakfast is available as is nightly dinner and complimentary wine and cheese, Sunday through Thursday afternoons. Each evening, guests receive turndown service, with soft lighting, music and a sweet treat. The hotel’s concierge can arrange dinner reservations and transportation or make recommendations about how to best explore Savannah. Corporate travelers have access to three meeting rooms, a 24-hour business center and wireless-enabled public areas.

The Marshall House is about 15 miles from the Savannah International Airport. From the airport, take I-95 south to exit 99A, which is Hwy. 16 East. Follow Hwy. 16 into Savannah until it merges into Montgomery Street. Follow Montgomery Street to the third light. Turn right onto Broughton Street. Follow Broughton Street for five blocks. The hotel is on the right.
