The 341-room Marriott Savannah Riverfront is a full-service hotel catering to the upmarket leisure and business traveler. The eight-story, non-smoking property is connected to the city’s famous River Street via the Riverwalk. River Street has 68 specialty shops, taverns, and restaurants. The historic attractions of the old city, including the City Market, the Savannah History Museum, art galleries and antique shops are within walking distance of the hotel. Away from the historic area, the attractions and landmarks include numerous golf courses, the Tybee Island Lighthouse, the Savannah Shopping Mall, and the Bonaventure Cemetery. The hotel has 18 meeting room for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 1,500 guests.

Most guests adore this grand hotel in a great location on the riverfront. The service is superb, the public areas and accommodation is spacious. However, recent visitors say it is time the rooms were refurbished. The olde tyme fixtures need to be upgraded into the twenty first century. Those who come here often say they are expecting to see some upgrading on their next visit. Despite the problem, most clients say they will stay here again and recommend it to others. And the reason? All the rooms, and 46 suites, have a well-lit work desk with high-speed Internet access for $9.99 a day, telephone with voicemail and speakerphone, coffee and tea making facilities, cable television with news and movie channels, pullout sofa bed, iron and ironing board, alarm clock and a hairdryer. One and two-bedroom hospitality suites are available as well junior suites and executive suites.

Dining options include the Blue A Savannah Bistro, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Blue A Savannah Bistro Bar, which serves lunch and the Atrium Bar open throughout the day serving snacks. Room service is available from 6am until 11pm. There are several restaurants within walking distance including Jazz’d Tapas Restaurant, the Olde Pink House and the Pirate’s House. The hotel has an indoor atrium swimming pool, an outdoor patio pool, whirlpools and a fitness center. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes. Other amenities include a concierge desk, business center, an ATM, on-site laundry, valet dry-cleaning and a gift shop and newsstand.

From Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) 10 miles: Take I-95 south to I-16 East until it ends and turns into Montgomery Street. Turn right on Bay Street. Follow Bay Street and you will see the Marriott on the left side.
