Excellent Hotel - posted on 02/21/2006
The experience was perfect from the time we drove up, until we drove away. From the valet, to the doorman, to Patricia at the front desk, to the room service staff, to the Sunday brunch chef to the wonderful waitress at brunch - great experience. The hotel is located in a prime location and makes the stay very nice. The convenience of the tour bus picking up at the hotel was perfect too. We plan to return on our next visit to Savannah.
A great location - posted on 02/02/2006
The Hyatt is the only full-service hotel on Savannah's River St, center of much of the action. While the hotel is an architectural monstrosity, out of keeping with its surroundings, it is extremely comfortable and the service is consistently excellent.

A wonderful view from the balcony suites to the river. Great service. We always enjoy our stay at your hotel.
the room we stayed in - posted on 09/06/2005
the riverview room we stayed was nice, but really was not worth the money at that time of year. the room was just like others that we have stayed at and the balcony was very small. Thanks for all the other servies they were great.thank you

Our overall stay was very pleasant. Staff was extremely helpful. Check-in got us to a room very promptly with no wait and check-out was quick. The parking attendants were extremely helpful and very courteous. The room was very comfortable.
A Great Place to Stay - posted on 08/20/2005
This hotel is in the best location of all! Ride the elevator down to River Street! The service is tops, the food delicious, beds are SO comfortable! View of River Street from the room is terrific! We loved everything about our stay, only wished the restaurant had been open while we were there -- it is being renovated and temporary location is upstairs although the food and service was great! I recommend this hotel to anyone!

We walked in without a reservation and got a very good rate. The room was spotless and well appointed. The bed was fit for a king. The view of River Street was perfect. The pool was very relaxing after a long day of travel and sightseeing. I wanted to stay longer. The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful.
Location is King - posted on 01/31/2005
The hotel was a bit tired, especially for the going rate. The service was excellent and the location was perfect, so if you don't mind paying the price for those two things you will enjoy yourself.

Only Worth It If You Snag A Deal - posted on 05/03/2007
This pricey hotel is almost first class, but not quite when compared to its surrounding peers. Stayed here because we got a great deal. Valet parking was $17. Common areas feel old & outdated. Bed was divine & overlooked downtown & river. Staff was exceptional. Former guest left something in the safe. Due to inconvenience, we received breakfast buffet vouchers. Food was ok, but actual price was ridiculous ($20pp). Shops, restaurants, etc. are footsteps away. Budget-minded try west end of Bay St. First class travelers try across the river, a bed & breakfast, or opposite side of Bay St.

Room was nice but bathroom was not the deluxe marble bath they advertise. It was small with one sink and very difficult for two people to be in it at the same time. Looked very old with mold in the grout of the tub and hot water handle falling off the sink. When we mentioned this to the front desk we were told "this is not a exclusive resort hotel, and all our bathrooms are the same.

We did not get our money's worth at this hotel. When we arrived, there was no one to park our car or help us unload. Then we were told that they had run out of space in their garage -be aware that the hotel charges $15.00 per night for parking. We arrived at 7:30 pm exhausted - but our room was not ready until 10:00PM! The breakfast was to begin at 6:30 am, but we were kept waiting for 30 minutes - The breakfast bar is about $17.00 per person - so for a family of three, it comes to nearly $60.00. I would not stay there again.
Good and Evil - posted on 12/06/2006
First the good. The room was very nice and clean. The hotel is very convienently located . Now the not so good. We had an atrium view room, which also came with the atrium noise. Functions in the ballroom on Friday and Saturday nights went on past midnight. The ballroom doors are in the lobby/atrium, so the noise from people outside the ballroom echoed in the atruim. The walls and door were very thin, so there was alot of halway noise. If you're looking for a nice hotel on River Street, try the River Street Inn. We stayed there about 5 years ago and were very pleased.
Savannah's finest accomadations - posted on 10/27/2006
My new bride spent our honeymoon in this hotel. I was shocked at how nice the hotel was. It offered a lot for a smaller city such as Savannah; as opposed to a larger city such as: Jacksonville FL, Atlanta, or Memphis. If they added spa services it could stand toe-to-toe with Atlanta's fine hotels.

Overall, the hotel was pretty nice. The heat, however didn't seem to work well. The unit continued to blow cold air, although I turned the thermostat up. I ended up having to turn it off all togeter.

We were so pleasantly surprised with the outstanding hospitality we received by staying at the Hyatt. The staff when checking in were so gracious and the concierge was extremely helpful. The location of this hotel right on the river and within walking distance to many restaurants and historical sites was another plus. Can't wait to return for another visit.
What a Pleasant Place to Stay! - posted on 07/22/2006
We loved it! The Staff were great! The location is wonderful! The pool does need to be placed somewhere else, maybe the roof would be nice. This hotel is a must stay for all. I would like to see some SPA services offered in the future. That would be great.
OUR VACATION - posted on 06/21/2006
THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOTEL CAN USE A LITTLE PICK ME UP. THE INTERIOR IS VERY NICE. THE EATING FACILITIES ARE OK, BUT TOO EXPENSIVE. WE ATE DOWN THE BLOCK AT TONY ROMAS A FEW TIMES AND ALSO AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT NEAR MLK BLVD. THEY GIVE YOU MORE FOR YOUR MONEY. THE INDOOR POOL IS RIDICULOUS. IT REEKED OF BLEACH THE MINUTE YOU STEPPED OFF THE ELEVATOR. WE WENT THERE ONCE FOR AN HOUR. THIS HOTEL SHOULD INVEST IN AN OUTDOOR POOL. THE ROOMS WERE NICE. THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY. THE CONSIERGE WAS VERY NICE. NOT MUCH TO DO THERE.

My husband and I traveled to Savannah for a close to home honeymoon. We were VERY pleased with the hotel, the staff, the room, the location and the views. The front desk staff greeted us like they remembered us each time we returned. The valet folks were great. We felt very welcome. Next time we return we will definitely book with hyatt again.

Spent a weekend down there acouple months back, so disappointed. the ship light didn't work, the room wasnt very clean, we had to wait 5 hours after check in to get out room, after 4 days of my fiance complaining about her back i looked at the bed and realized her side of the bed was broken! i was furious.

My husband, daughter and myself just returned from visiting Savannah during the St Patrick's Day celebrations. We had a woderful time staff at Hyatt were top notch couldn't ask for more. Great room, beds and beautiful views!
Great choice for tourist - posted on 12/24/2005
Hotel smoothly run, very friendly staff. Our room was enormous, bedding wonderful, and because it was atrium view (rather than river) very reasonable. Since we are repeat visitors to Savannah, didn't mind lack of view, although a bit disconcerting to not know what weather is doing.

This hotel has come a long way in last couple months. It is great now!
The Best Launch Spot - posted on 12/02/2005
This hotel was great - easy access to River Street shopping and the historic district. The staff was very friendly, and don't miss the bar if there is anything going on out on the river. My only complaint was the courtyard facing room - when the merriment was rowdy in the lobby, it was too close for comfort. I'd definitely stay here again.
Got Milk? - posted on 07/04/2005
Staying a week with a baby, I called ahead to reserve a refrigerator and was promised I'd have one. When I arrived I was told they were all loaned out. Every day the very courteous staff told me I'd likely have one soon. To no avail. Every day we had to trek to the convenience store and purchase new milk. For the rate I paid, I would have expected this hotel to purchase another refrigerator -- just for me!
Worst Hotel - posted on 02/02/2005
This is the worst hotel Ive ever stayed at in my life for a suite and you get a room that looks like a motel room. Please avoid at all costs. They need more than 10 million to renovate this awful hotel
