I observed when I first arrived that the hotel was in need of renovation. However, once I checked in, I saw signs posted in the hotel that the renovation had already begun.

I had a great experience at the Fairfield Inn. The room was clean, the people were friendly, and the breakfast was great. I recommend this inn for everyone.

The room was small but clean and in good shape. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is near the military base and not in the best part of town. Access to the historic district seemed only marginally better than being in the gateway area. The hotel seemed to be an older hotel that has been renovated. The exterior was being repaired while we were there. The free continental breakfast was good and the Belgian waffles were delicious. Overall we thought the hotel was a bit over-priced for the location, but it was clean and that is what really mattered most to us.

Hotel was neat and clean. Near shopping and only short distance to downtown. Secure and safe. Well lit parking. Room with king size bed was small. Good value for the money.
Clean but misleading location - posted on 03/27/2007
Very clean hotel, nice decor, great security and very friendly staff, but the location is misleading. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes away from historic district. Not a bad drive but with parking and traffic it can be a pain and expensive.

MY WIFE AND I SPENT OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY AT YOUR 2 LEE RD. LOCATION IN SAVANNAH, GA. AND WHEN WE WALKED IN WE WHERE SHOCKED! ACTUALLY A VERY NEAT AND TIDY CLEAN ROOM. THE FRONT DESK LADY WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE WHOLE TRIP WAS GREAT. THANKS VERY MUCH TO THE FAIRFIELD INN STAFF. SEE YOU NEXT TIME.

The two nights we were stayed, the Air Force Base helicopters were flying night manevers making it difficult to sleep. The fan in the bathroom ran constantly sucking the heat from the room. The breakfast was great. But the service person in the "kitchen" played their music very loudly which competed with the dining area TV, making for a very loud breakfast room. The desk staff was very nice and tried to be accomodating. The room itself was small and the bathroom even smaller. We wouldn't stay there again.
Nice people - Great stay! - posted on 10/12/2006
My father had surgery at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital and the staff couldn't have been more concerned and considerate! They bent over backwards for us and our comfort. Super proximity to the Hospital and shopping. The continental breakfast was really nice - not your ordinary continental breakfast. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Reeked of Raw Sewage - posted on 10/02/2006
My husband took me to Savannah for the weekend for my birthday. I knew something was wrong when we pulled up and the building resembled an old Days Inn or Econo Lodge. We planned to stay two days and had to check out early due to the nauseating stinch. This is my first bad experience with Marriott and I'm hoping this is an isolated event.
Great value! - posted on 09/28/2006
this is a great hotel for the money. close enough to both the historic district of Savannah AND Tybee Island. staff was very helpful and the room was very nice.

Centrally located and easily accessed. Check-in was smooth, room was clean and comfortable and the free continental breakfast was decent. Coffee could have been kept hotter. Tried 2 of the Internet wifi adapters without success. Could have been the room location in that they were purported to have worked when tested at the registration desk.
great stay - posted on 07/30/2006
this was our first visit to Savannah, we wanted a good hotel close to downtown and inexpensive, this hotel gave all and more. The staff could not have been any nicer or more helpful. Our first night they had drinks and finger food, breakfest was great...a great place to stay

Stay in Fairfield Inns a lot. Usually great value. This one was the pits. One desk clerk at check-in. Manager and others walking around behind front desk but not helping customers. Took over 20 minutes to check in. Rooms were filthy. Hairs on pillows.Mold on bathroom walls. Checkout as bad as check in. Manager was clueless. Needs help. Certain Fairfield Inn will take action. Too good a brand to let this go on.

This is an older building with the first 2 floors having door -access from outside. The 3rd floor is internal but the rooms are in need of new carpets. Very soiled and makes you question cleanliness. The staff is very accomodating and friendly.
Worst Fairfield I have stayed in. - posted on 02/10/2005
small, dingy, unkept rooms. Lack of ammenities, breakfast was good but only 4 small tables to accommodate the whole motel. Had in room coffee maker but no coffee pot. This motel is much too expensive for what you get. I am very dissapointed in Marriot.

Carpet was filthy; cockroach & spiders in room. Staff was OK but not the friendliness we've ever encountered. Continental breakfast was great but the breakfast room way too small for the number of people trying to crowd in there. Grounds were beautiful; room disappointing.
