The hotel was clean, service was fast and we were happy with the overall 2 day stay in the hotel. We enjoyed the continental breakfast each morning along with the newspaper. There was some street noise in the late evening...but it died down before too long. We would stay there again when visiting Savannah.

Great location, so close to Lady & Sons, historical district, City Market, Savannah River! Friendly, helpful staff, especially concierge. Would stay at the Inn and recommend it to others!

Very disappointed in the stay here. Upon arrival, had to wait several (3) hours for the room to be available - which was well after the check in time. Rooms are small, bathrooms small. Staff were not very friendly or accommidating.

we booked a suite over a month in advance, got there, none available. We asked for towels and coffee, still waiting...We wanted the Paula Deen package, uh the lady that does that isn't here today. Thanks bunches! The room was cramped, the bath was tiny and service was non existant!

Stayed At Inn@Ellis Sq five days. Location is ideal for sightseeing. Pluses include helpful concierge svc, free internet, substantial "continental breakfast", many good restaurants in area, and don't miss Paula Deen's The Lady & Sons for Southern Cooking! Rooms are adequate and clean, but maid svc was spotty--one day it was face towels, the next it was coffee for the coffee maker, the next it was cups. With that one exception, easily correctable, I think it is a very good 3 star hotel.
Great place to stay! - posted on 05/09/2007
My husband and I have stayed in Savannah several times, and this was, by far, our most enjoyable experience. We loved the suites, and the great continental breakfast was served in a large, sunny room. This is the very best location in Savannah for us since it is within walking distance of so many points of interest. We love having easy access to our car for trips around the area. The staff was extremely helpful. We certainly will stay here again!
Fantastic Place to Stay - posted on 05/02/2007
Our Girl Scout troop and parents stayed here for three days and two nights. The staff was wonderful, the rooms clean and the complimentary breakfast buffet was substantial enough to keep us going until lunch. The girls and parents all enjoyed our stay and loved the convienience of the downtown location. We are now planning an adults only trip back to Savannah and to Stay at the Inn on Ellis Square because we enjoyed it so much!
enjoyed staying at the Inn at Ellis Square - posted on 04/26/2007
I was in Savannah on business and my girlfriend was with me. The Inn at Ellis Square is in a great location and it was easy for her to find things to do during the day as well as close to dining and night life. We enjoyed walking to River St., galleries, city market, etc. The house keeping staff also impressed us with their thoughfulness and hospitality.

Loved the location: In the middle of everything all walking distance (no car needed). Breakfast: Danish, muffins, bagles, gravy, cinimon rolls, coffee, orange, apple, fruit juice, waffles, and my god excellent breakfast!!! Rooms: are a bit small, but who cares you are hardly in there. Staff: Bit of an attitude, but overall plesant to speak too I am very pciky about things, but I tell you what I am going back and will stay again at this hotel. This is a very kid friendly hotel!!! House cleaning ladies were very sweet also!!!

This is a very nice place, lobby and public places very nice. Breakfast was okay, toaster was broken, lots of fruit, bagels and muffins though. We got there very early, but we were set up with parking anyway, which was great. The room furniture was just a little beat up, but great beds and four fat, fluffy pillows on each bed! Location is wonderful and staff is very helpful. Will definitely go back again and we recommend this hotel.

Location is excellent. You can walk to everything. The room was nice but bathroom was small. On 7th floor you still hear street noise. Parking in their garage was convienient but was not informed it was $9.00 per night at check-in (found out at check-out). Would stay there again.

where to start..parking deck too small. People in the hallways you can hear every word they say over the TV! Using tray in room told you could not use it in breakfast room after friend was accused of steeling food when she actually brought her own ceral since she was on diet. Room not cleaned after 9 hours of being out shopping. I could go on and on.

HIGHLY recommend. Great location right off Bay Street, beautiful hotel, friendly service, would never believe this was a Days Inn. Decorated like a 5-star hotel. We had a suite and it was HUGE, with the bedroom far from the street. I wouldn't want a regular room right with the bedroom overlooking the street - very noisy! My only complaint was the suite section of the hotel didn't have ice machines; had to go all the way to the lobby. And the week we were there (post-Christmas) was very busy and there was very little room to sit at the FREE continental breakfast. (very MINOR complaints!)

The Inn at Ellis Square is the perfect location for visiting Savannah. You are in the heart of the historic district within walking distance of shopping and dining. The concierge is EXCELLENT as is the Thursday evening cocktail reception. The Inn is very quaint and has a Eupopean feel. I highly recommend this Inn and look forward to visiting again.

Beautifully decorated lobby and nice breakfast spread. The room was way too small and the bathroom needs to be renovated. The toilet seat looked as if it hadn't been changed in years. There were black scuff marks on the toilet seat

The hotel was quite convenient to the historic district as well as the entertainment area of Savannah. All of this was well within walking distance. The hotel was recently remodeled and looks fantastic. The rooms even come with a high-speed modem if you need one. Our room was even able to pick up a wireless network signal from the lobby. Great hotel with a great price.
Never Again - posted on 09/26/2006
We stayed here because it was close to everything downtown. To say the least, the hotel was drastically overpriced and in need of some major cleaning and/or maintenance. The lobby looked very nice but the hallways were old and odor filled. Our room was hot and the A/C was only mildly effective. The bathroom did not appear clean and the hot water ran out after 5-6 minutes in the shower. The bed sheets were stained (with poop?) We were very disappointed.
Inn At Ellis Square, Savannah, GA. - posted on 09/21/2006
The Inn At Ellis Square is located on W. Bay Street, which is the heart of the Historic District. The Hotel is very clean and offers standard rooms as well as suites. Continental breakfast is included between 8AM-10AM. I would suggest going early as it is quite busy after 9AM. Off-Street parking is a plus in Savannah and at $9.00 per day, it is a bargain! Also the well known Lady and Sons Restaurant, owned by Paula Deen is approximately two blocks away. If you are in Savannah Mon-Fri, try Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room also.
Never, Ever Again - posted on 09/19/2006
To call this hotel old would do no justice to this dinosaur relic. I have lived in Army barracks that had nicer hallways and the ultra small rooms were fit for a demolition crew. Hot water ran out after 5 minutes in the shower and the bed sheets had poop stains on them. NEVER AGAIN!

Convenient but that - posted on 08/21/2006
The Lobby looked very nice, and the breakfast was outstanding. In the room: The commode was dirty, the bathtub did not look clean, no tissues, only shampoo available, no decaf coffee, small sink and bath area, no luggage rack, almost ran out of hot water on the second shower, sheets did not fit broken remote , keys that don't work. Other than that, it was walking distance to most places. We would not stay here again. We'd pay more to get a better room.

not so hot - posted on 07/05/2006
Hotel is located at heart of Bay St / River St tourist stuff, with on-site parking. Unfortunately, 4th of July weekend brought a spring break mentality to Savannah, and this hotel in particular...loud boisterous patrons, making noise all night in hallways with impunity...first room we had has a shower (handicapped) that flooded the bathroom...second room was better, but attitude of front desk was "whatever"....

We had scalding hot water in the tub even when the faucet was turned to cold and it was a handicapped rm. Dirty, musty, and toilet ran constant. With all the nice places to stay in Sav, go somewhere else.
terrible hotel - posted on 06/12/2006
everyone employed at this hotel was terribly rude. the lobby was the onlything clean in the hotel. they refused to give us water glasses, utensils, and would not allow us to park in the hotels parking garage. there were 4 people staying in our room. by 3pm our room had not been serviced so we asked for towels. they would only give us one towel for 4 people. ridiculous!
Pleasant - posted on 05/09/2006
I found my overall experience to be quite pleasant for the most part. Bill was wonderful with tickets to the various activities. He went above and beyond my expectations. My only complaint would be that there was quite a bit of mildew in and around the bathtub. Have never stayed somewhere and had that problem before.

It was decorated very nice. However the upgrade suites are more of a down grade. The windows in the suites are paper thin and you can hear people talking as the walk by. I got no rest. Down graded to standard room and was okay.

The location of your hotel was excellent. Within walking distance of all important areas. One of the problems in the hotel was the housekeeping staff..Our rooms were not completed until very late in the afternoon. On one occasion we returned to the room at 6 p.m. and it was still undone. Try not to book rooms on the street side-very noisy. Un friendly bartender. Helpful concierge.

This motel has a staff that could care less about you having a nice stay. Their door locks are sensitive, but to need 5 sets of new keys within a 3 day stay!!! And they didn't seem to care. Also the bathroom floor was always wet from a leaking toilet then the tub. Also don't plan on sleeping with all the trucks going by all night long. I never heard so many cement and gravel trucks. I won't stay here again. They did have a great breakfast.

Our bed was awful! It was in desperate need of being replaced. The shower was small, but functional. However, the bathroom could have been cleaner. It is a functional hotel with very few extras. The staff gets the job done, but do not go out of their way. The continetal breakfast is good, but get there early or you will miss the biscuits and gravy.

We had an enjoyable stay at your hotel. It was beautifully decorated for the holdiays. We appreciated not being charged for a third adult when we brought our soldier son to stay with us when he returned from his year tour in Iraq. We felt your hotel treated us all graciously. We enjoyed the continental breafast each morning. All of the staff was friendly and concerned that we have a nice stay. Thank you.
Disappointed - posted on 01/20/2006
My husband had just returned from Kuwait and I wanted to give him something special. I booked smoking and they sent us to the 5th floor where we had to walk over teenagers lying on the floor in the hallway. As it turned out, a basketball team had booked almost the entire floor. When we got to our door, the sign said non-smoking. The front desk gave us another room. When I commented on the rude tenagers, I was told that was not their problem. I felt like I was staying at a shelter.I hated it.I made my apologies to my husband and we had to make the best of the situation.
Clean and quiet - posted on 12/19/2005

The location of this hotel was perfect! Short walk to trolley, riverfront, City Market, and of course The Lady and Son's. The lobby is very nice. The room is as expected...simple and ok. The shower walls had mildew on them (no excuse). The shower curtain smelled sour as well. After returning to our room, around 4pm, after a long day touring the city our room had not been serviced. Of course after a call and a 15-20 minute wait someone came. For the convenince of the hotel I was satisfied with my visit and would stay there again.
Luggage - posted on 11/01/2005
There was no one to help with our luggage. For older travelers and families, it is really needed. The parking facility was quite a distance with limited parking to load and unload.
Name change - posted on 11/01/2005
Hotel had changed its name but was still listed on the website by its old name. The result was a big inconvenience because we could not find the hotel. We asked for a non-smoking room but the room clearly had been a smoking room that they tried to deodorize and clean up. Room was too expensive for the quality of the facility.

Remodeling is complete and done well. Lobby bar and breakfast area have plasma TVs. Room was comfortable and clean. Continential breakfast consisted of muffins, donuts, bagels, cereals, made-to-order Belgium waffles, milk, juice, and coffee. Room was on the ground floor facing W. Bay St.. Road traffic could be heard and might keep a light sleeper awake. If this is an issue, make a request to be on the other side. Garage parking was $8 and was valid until 3pm on the day of check-out. The trolley tour has a pick-up stop right outside the hotel lobby.

We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. Great price for the loction. The hotel has been completely renovated. The room was updated and very clean. Bathroom was very tiny. It was close to all the attractions so walking was easy. Parking in the deck is $8 per day - - but Savannah has meter parking everywhere so the deck parking is a deal. Would definately stay here again
Not a great stay - posted on 06/29/2005
The hotel did not have our reservation. They gave us a "free upgade" to a suite. The 'room' was 2 dbL beds; a 'suite' was 1 dbl bed with a pull out couch. We were traveling with 2 adults and 3 children.

Days Inn transferred our reservation to Best Western Hotel in Savannah without even notifying us in advance of arrival. We were not satisfied with the placement change to the Best Western and would have changed our travel arrangements had we known ahead of time. We had a noisy, leaky toilet at the Best Western and were located in the back of the motel inconvenient to any elevator on the third floor. There was a noisy party in the street behind the motel thru the wee hours of the morning.
My experience... - posted on 04/06/2005
I arrived at the hotel, we had the 2 bedroom suite and it was clean, mostly quiet and very good location. They are in the process of renovations but it is overall a good hotel. Couples going need to know that even though it was a 2 bedroom suite, it only has one bath. I knew this was a Days Inn. Overall, for the price it is a good bargain.

I Expected Better For The Price I Paid - posted on 04/28/2004
I often visit Savannah for my job. I wanted a change of pace this time, and wanted to lodge closer to the location where I work when I visit. I was willing to pay the price of lodging downtown vs by the Airport or on Abercorn. I was extremely disappointed in the condition of the rooms. I have stayed in places below $60.00 a night much nicer than your hotel. Moreover, it was disappointing that as a guest, I had to pay for parking, a phone that I did not use, and you even try to charge me for a safe that I did not use. I will not stay at this location again and I would not recommend it to anyone.
