The 70-room Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Augusta has been designed to attract both the vacationer and business traveler. Items included with the room rate at this four-story, non-smoking hotel are a a deluxe continental breakfast, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, a morning newspaper, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Area landmarks and attractions include several golf course including the world famous Augusta National Golf Club, the Adventure Crossing theme park, Columbia County Amphitheater, the Ezekiel Harris House, Fort Discovery National Science Center, the Laurel and Hardy Museum, Morris Museum of Art, Woodrow Wilson Home and shopping at the Augusta Mall.

This is a brand new Fairfield inn which opened in July 2009 and promises to be a major competitor in the Augusta market. The location is ideal just minutes from downtown Augusta, the Riverwalk and the historic district. The new team of employees promises to offer the best in efficient and friendly service and the hotel management says the rates will be competitive with the older neighboring hotels. All the rooms and 12 suites have a well-lit work desk with high-speed Internet access, two-line telephone with voicemail and speakerphone, coffee and tea making facilities, television with cable news and movie channels, refrigerator, microwave oven, pullout sofa bed, iron and ironing board, alarm clock and a hairdryer.

The hotel has a whirlpool and a fitness center. The on-site Ashley’s Restaurant is only open for breakfast. Restaurants nearby include a PF Chang’s China Bistro, a Romano’s Macaroni Grill and an O’Charley’s. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include daily housekeeping, copy and fax services, a guest laundry, valet dry-cleaning and vending machines.

From Augusta Airport (AGS) 9 miles: Take a right out of the airport unto Doug Bernard Parkway follow for about 2.5 miles and make a left into I-520 West. Follow I-520 W for about seven miles and take exit 3A. The hotel will be on the right hand side of the road
