This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. My only complaint is that the parking is overpriced ($19/day, valet only) and that the valets are overworked and slow. Also, we did not get maid service on our two-day stay. We left the room at 10am, and returned at 5pm. Housekeeping had not visited the room yet. They did call to ask about service, but the timing was inconvenient, and we told them not to bother.

The all-suites Residence Inn Midtown at 17th Street is designed for executives and families on vacation wanting to linger a little longer in Atlanta. The 160-suite property, which is non-smoking, offers boutique loft-style accommodations in the heart of Atlanta's art district. The seven-story inn is close to the High Museum of Art and Woodruff Arts Center. Items included with the room rate are high-speed Internet access, a hot breakfast buffet and a hospitality hour on weekday evenings with beverages and appetizers. The pet-friendly hotel has three meeting rooms for social and business functions. The largest is capable of handling 90 people. The property is close to the Georgia Dome, home of the Atlanta Falcons, Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves and the studio tours offered at CNN Center.

The suites have separate living and sleeping areas and a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator with icemaker, toaster, microwave oven and conventional oven, dishwasher and coffee maker. Southern hospitality at its best: This was the opinion of many guests who have stayed at this Marriott property. The Midtown location made it a perfect base for families wanting to see the sights of Atlanta. Tip from former clients: Many of the small, neighborhood shops are closed at weekends. Fortunately, for shoppers, the shopping malls in and around the city are not.
