For location, you can't beat this hotel. In a historic part of Midtown, both the hip Buck head area and downtown Atlanta are nearby. A full breakfast was served with waffles, eggs, bacon, and good old Southern grits, in addition to the usual Continental muffins, cereal and dough nuts. My room had a mini-kitchen with toaster, microwave and full-sized refrigerator. The French doors lead out to a balcony with a nice view of the ATL. However, if you like a great location and a hotel with some history and character, the Residence Inn Historic Midtown in Atlanta is the choice for you.

Full breakfast served that was delicious.

Clerk who checked me in was curt, not very courteous.

Rooms are like condominium, kitchen, refrigerator, big living room with desk and Internet include Breakfast is also include in stay. Great hotel I will stay there again!!!!!

The all-suites Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta Historic Midtown makes an ideal touring base for exploring Atlanta. There are 78 suites on seven floors of this pet-friendly, non-smoking property which is just blocks away from the High Museum of Art, the Fox Theater (where Gone With the Wind was premiered) and the Atlanta Ballet. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, a drinks and snacks reception on weekday evenings, high-speed Internet access and local telephone calls. For sports fans the inn is close to Georgia Tech, the Georgia Dome, home of the Atlanta Falcons and Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves.

Many guests were surprised at the size of the suites. They were larger than expected. The fully equipped kitchen enabled complete meals to be prepared saving on the cost of dining out. Tip from former guests: If you are coming from the airport, consider taking the MARTA train. The fare is under $3 and there is a station right across from the hotel. Taxi fare is around $30 plus tip.
