About the Comfort Inn Downtown South Turner Field

The 89-room Comfort Inn Downtown South at Turner Field is centrally located just minutes from downtown Atlanta and across the street from Turner Field ballpark, home of the Atlanta Braves. The property provides economically priced accommodation for both the leisure and business traveler. Items included with the room rate are a continental breakfast, in-room coffee and a copy of USA Today. The inn has easy access to Atlanta’s downtown connector which puts many of the area attractions within a short drive including the Georgia World Congress Center, the world headquarters of Coca Cola, Zoo Atlanta and the Martin Luther King Center. Attractions that can easily be accessed by the expressway system are Six Flags Over Georgia and the impressive Stone Mountain park.

This downtown inn just sneaks in with a yes ranking. Many former guests said the only good things about this property were the proximity to Turner Field and the staff who tried very hard to make one feel comfortable. Major complaints were the low-income neighborhood, which the hotel can do nothing about and the poor housekeeping, which management certainly can improve. Stained beds and dirty rooms need only be a temporary problem. Hopefully management will read this and get their house in order. If the complaints continue then the yes recommendation goes and the dreaded two-letter word NO will replace it. Read our customer reviews?

All rooms are air-conditioned and have a desk with Internet access, for a fee, IDD telephone with voicemail, cable television, coffee maker and an iron and ironing board. Handicap accessible and non-smoking rooms are also available.

Amenities offered

The only meal served here is the complementary continental breakfast. However the Bull Pen Bar and Grill is adjacent to the hotel and it is an easy drive to Underground Atlanta which features numerous bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool which is open during the warmer months. There are copy and fax machines available for guests’ use and the 24-hour front desk has information on all the area attractions. There is a coin operated laundry on-site as well as ice and soda machines.
