Since I only spent a quick overnight arriving late in the evening and checking out early in the morning to catch a plane, I did not use the hotels facilities to give a review on those.

This hotel is in a great location. Close to west shore and international plaza. The staff was helpful and the overall value was satisfactory. One major problem is that the hotel is ongoing renovations and many rooms and amenities were closed.

The 489-room Doubletree Hotel Tampa Westshore Airport is a five-minute drive from the Tampa International Airport and provides a 24-hour complimentary shuttle. Other items included with the room rate are a shuttle of the Port of Tampa cruise ship terminal on sailing days, in-room coffee, a copy of USA Today, self-parking and a warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in. There are 14 meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest, the Bay Pointe Grand Ballroom, can accommodate 1,200 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include numerous golf courses, the Gulf of Mexico beaches, the Busch Gardens amusement park, the University of South Florida, the Tampa Convention Center, University of Tampa, the Florida Aquarium, historic Ybor City and the Lowry Park Zoo.

This Doubletree may not be as new and sleek as some upmarket Tampa hotels but most guests who stayed here were delighted with the rooms that were well equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff here was very friendly and welcoming especially at the Players Sports Bar. The majority of guests said they would return to this property on future visits to Tampa and had no problem recommending the property to fellow travelers.
