The hotel is located in a convenient location which must be why they don't update, hire informative and friendly people at the front desk. The carpets were tattered, feet got dirty after walking across carpet, cop webs, dirty walls. Towels were soft, showers were good. TV didn't work. The maid service was great though. They did the best they could with what they were working with.

Was given bad card key at checkin and treated rudely when I asked for one that worked. Ventilation shaft for restaurant being cleaned until 1AM was VERY loud. Staff made no sincere apologies in either instance.

Hotel is worn out - needs refrubishing - staff not knowledgeable about surrounding area. Not the cleanest hotel - rest. closed @ 10PM - no assistance on location of other rest. in area - are a large # within walking distance.- staff didn't seem to care. Free shuttle from airport - but free shuttle to Port cost was $10/er passenger.

What a dump! Don't be fooled, it's not a Best Western. Dresser looked like an elephant sat on it. Fell off the toilet reaching for TP. Housekeeping came late in the day (5 PM), never replenished towels or toiletries during 4 day stay. Staff was rude at check-in, couldn't find an extra pillow, never gave us our wake-up call to get to the airport. Would never stay at this roach motel again.

3 stars with other hotel rating services generally assures a traveler of a good quality hotel room. My room was old, dirty and worn out well beyond what I would have expected

This hotel was not good at all....... there were tenns outside in the (courtyard) from 11pm to 4 am making ALOT of noise. We called the front desk and they did nothing!! Room really old and dirty no fitted sheets on bed. Would not stay there again! I

The hotel was very well located for my needs. Also when we were given a smoking room, we were immediately reassigned a non-smoking room which was much nicer than the smoking room. The non-smoking room was obviously remodeled and did not smell of smoke at all. We would stay there again. Thank you. AS

The rooms are clean. Just finishing touches need to be addressed. Wallpaper peeling, ceiling tiles replaced.

I would class this hotel as a average one. The hotel has made some improvements but room carpets still must be changed. They clean rooms late in the afternoon, which could cause a problem. Staff was friendly but should serve a continal breakfast for its size.

This is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. The room had mold on the ceilings, dirty rugs, and a very very small bathroom. I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

The rooms were dirty, the sheets had not been changed and there was makeup from a previous tenant on pillow cases which were never changed the entire 4 days we were there. Just dirty all over.

The price and location was right. Hotel is very dated. Book flight and hotel together and they double charged me. Worst steaks ever at the restaurant. Restaurant/Bar gives discounts to the strip club next door which could be good or bad. Shuttle service is nice, but not dependable.

I was fooled. Everything in the lobby is very sleek, posh, modern. Thought that the lobby was a little taste of what the rooms were going to be like. Very suprised to find out that all the rooms are on outside. rooms were nothing like I thought. needs serious renovation. I felt unsafe going outside of the room alone. I wouldn't stay there again

I found the hotel to be comfortable, and the staff to be helpful and accommodating. Their van service to and from the airport as well as to intown destinations was clean, efficient and the drivers were courteous. I would definitely stay there again if I were in the Tampa area. The in-house restaurant is very good.

We were in a pinch and it worked out as a place to sleep, but I would never plan to stay here. It is obvious they have spent a lot of resources on their lobby, but they need to spend more on the updating/ upgrading of the rooms. In addition, we stayed two nights and our room was never cleaned. When we requested additional towels it took greater than 5 hours to get them and they were delivered to us at 1100pm... while we were already asleep.

This is not a hotel. When I saw it on your webpage - I thought that it was;however, all of the rooms open directly to the outside. One evening a very drunk male trying to get into all of the rooms, including mine, and he was using his key and banging on all of the doors around the "courtyard". it was not a good experience...

I needed a hotel that supplied an airport shuttle. The shuttle was on time and the driver was very polite. The room was clean but humid. I didn't feel that safe going up to my room. I was on the 4th floor in the back of the hotel.

I was very happy with the rm cleanliness and shuttle to the airport but on my return home I was told it would be 2 hrs for the shuttle to pick me and my 2 small children up at the airport and ended up having to pay for a cab instead - the most important amenity was the airport shuttle since I was alone with my 2 children and asked specifically about it

I've only stayed there once, but hear that the interior rooms are a little better. I feel like they placed me in the rear exterior rooms because I booked at a discounted rate. There were stains on the carpet, the bathroom grout was dirty, and the individual coffee packets were opened.

Not what I expected from a 3 star rate. Decor is very old. Room was not as clean as I would have liked. No fitted sheets\.Restaurant was below average. No Room Service. Our pets cried all night and would not eat. Won't go again

It was OK. Not a great experience, not a bad one either. Its more for a business crowd in town for a conference rather than a vacation. Great restaurant and decent location. 15 minutes from Clearwater beach and 3 minutes from two major malls.

I Loved our stay at the west shore . First of all the walking in to the hotel and seeing it was sparkling clean was a relief all the staff were friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean and well stocked. the restaurant was pretty good although the menu could use some different items. no doubt in my mind I'll be back!!!!

Sweet, helpful staff, although we had to REQUEST house-keeping services. Pretty good restaurant. Nice pool. Ugly rooms, but at least they have free wireless access!

The hotel is nice, however they did not advertise the fact that the free airport shuttle did not start until 5:10 am which was not sufficient to catch a 6:00 AM flight.

The planes are loud when they take off but you are by the airport. The food in the resteraunt was not to my liking. There was a musky odor comming from the a/c uniots. But the pool was great and you are in walking distance to two big malls, two steak houses, movie theater, a gentermans club next door and the Tampa Bay Bucs Home office. Was able to take a peak while they were filming a praticing ( Just got lucky ). We were on the second floor where there was a patio / court yard. If it was not for the 3 things that need improvement than I would give it a 5.

This place was scary. I flew in for a job interview and wanted a cheap place near the airport. Well, I clearly overpaid for what was obviously a seedy motel in a previous life. Plus, when my sister tried to find the number of the hotel by calling Best Western's 800#, it wasn't even listed because it's not an official Best Western! The free shuttle to the airport is great, but I couldn't get a shuttle from the airport to the hotel.

The only thing that was even remotely impressive was the main lobby. Our daughter had found the aquarium quite amusing. The elevator creaked and was very, very slow and not to mention, scary.The room was less impressive.The top comforter seemed dirty and overused.The carpets looked like they have not been shampooed in a while.Overall, we were not happy with the room. The bottom line is: If you are looking for cheap night stay and you don't care whether or not the sheets are clean, then this is the hotel for you. Otherwise, be smart and find someplace else.

This hotel was okay, it's convenient to the airport and the lobby looks like it was re-decorated recently, but the hotel is old and the rooms show it.

We were looking for a budget friendly hotel with a good central location and we found it! I had read all the reviews and how they varied extremely, but decided to take our chances since we were not planning on spending alot of time in the hotel ( and also the fact it was a Best Western). Room was clean and housekeeping very attentive and pleasent. Bed was ok (but after a week, glad to have mine back.) refrig very old and dated yet useful. location excell! malls, beaches, airport, baseball stadium. Pool was very clean and refreshing. all in all. not as bad as i thought it might have been! .

Chose this hotel based on location. We were arrivving late with kids. Checked in went to the room and the key didn't work,very suprised when the door opened and there were people in the room. Pretty happy the door didn't open. Bact to the lobby (no small treck) got it fixed.

Hotel is ideally situated between two shopping malls ! We used it as a stopover for the airport. With a courtesy bus available, we found the hotel very useful. I would recommend the hotel for this reason alone and a longer stay should time allow.

Despite the external appearence and the location [close to airport] being very good, when you get up to the bedroom area, you feel like you are staying in a road cheap motel, the corridors open, and no privacy for those who want to keep the windows open.

The price was decent considering the busy weekend, but our room needed help. The ugly, light blue wallpaper was peeling in spots in the bathroom, and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. Decent TV service, and plenty to do in the immediate area. Iron/board, coffee maker, and safe provided. NO VENT FAN IN BATHROOM, and the soap in the dispenser was gross. Shower O.K., water was hot.

I only stayed for a night and thankfully so. The rooms were friendly but out-dated. The showers would drastically switch from freezing cold to scalding hot about every minute during the shower. The beds were nice. Pool was dirty and not well kept up, but we came during off season when weather was cold. Either way we had a awsome time at ebor city, a place not to miss for any visit to Tampa. Also visit the international mall it is a shoppers paradise. The hotel was not amazing but the staff was helpful, and the the shuttle benefits more than paid for the room.

The staff is always very nice. My wife and I stay there when we return to Tampa to visit. We stayed there a few years back and now we relive old memories. We enjoy the small quiet bar downstairs.

I go to Tampa 2-3 weekends per month. I work a part time job and stay over on Saturday night. The room is nicer than where I was previously staying; however, the other hotel did have a refridgerator and microwave in the executive rooms. They are not able to arrange a cheaper corporate rate than the other hotel, so I am going to try to continue booking it through hotelsbycity.com.

I recently had to attend a business training in Tampa. I stayed at the Best Western Westshore Hotel. It was not only close to my business training but also close to shopping malls and restuarants! I couldn't beat the price either!

Excellent trip. The good people at Best Western Westshore made us feel welcome fom the moment we stepped through the door. We had 3 different rooms in our party and they made sure we were all close togather. They also let us know the good resturants and night spots in the nearby area. The accomadations were very nice. Everything went very smooth from check-in to check-out.

The first room I got was so bad, I literally cried! Old-fashioned, rock HARD spring bed, poorly cleaned/lit, stunk of chlorine, just BAD! I demanded and got newly renoed king room; much better. Noise level HIGH with courtyard room (limited privacy) and bar downstairs. Stay at own risk!

When I checked I found mold on the walls, a filthy floor and a very noisy ac unit. It was 8pm when I checked in, I reported the ac unit and was told someone would come up. At 9:30pm still no one came to fix ac, I was travel weary and wanted to go to bed, but they wouldn't fix ac or change my room. At 11pm front desk said maintence had left. Sheets were dirty!

The location is good for anyone who likes to shop, two malls withing a half a mile. The free shuttle service to and from the airport was nice, staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms need a little remodeling, but were efficient enough for the price. Bar had great drink deals, and hotel is close to several car rental places, along with THEE DOLLHOUSE, (strip bar)

Though housekeeping was very pleasant, I didn't find the front desk staff as nice as they should have been. Customer service skills need to be re-introduced to them. Also I was charged $3.00 for a "safe warranty" when I did not even use the safe and was displeased to see that. Customers should be told of such extra charges upon check in.

Had prepaid reservation which they claimed we didn't have even tho we had confirmation...made us pay a 2nd time and it took 2 mo. to get the credit on our Visa. Door lock never worked even tho we were provided with 3 different pass cards. Slo response from front desk for everything else...POOR EXPERIENCE!

the exterior of the hotel and lobby are very nice....but the room was in bad shape...a/c leaked water everywhere inside and out on balcony, a/c was not working in resturant the entire week we were there, front desk were less than pleasant when checkin in and out, was tolerable but not what i expected

I FOUND THE STAFF TO BE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND THE ACCOMODATIONS TO BE SATISFACTORY. THE RESTAURANTE IS A LITTLE OVER PRICED BUT THE FOOD WAS GOOD AND THE SERVINGS ABUNDANT. THE ONLY ASPECT I FOUND UNSATISFACTORY WAS THE CARPET. THE HOUSEKEEPING MISTS THEM WITH SOMETHING WHEN THEY CLEAN THE ROOMS AND DUE TO THE HUMIDITY IN THE AIR THEY NEVER REALLY DRY SO IF YOU WALK ON THEM IN SOCK FEET OR BARE FEET YOUR FEET GET DAMP AND FILTHY DIRTY. POOL WAS CLEAN, WELL MAINTAINED, AND JUST THE RIGHT TEMP FOR THE CURRENT WEATHER. OVERALL I ENJOYED MY STAY AND WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN.

The location is great If looking for dinning, a mall, to go downtown, or to go to beaches in clearwater, this is the place to stay at that is inexpensive. However, the place needs some updating. The first thing to go would be the fixtures, esp the bathroom. They show there age.Next would be the ugly blue carpet/wallpaper. Other than needing updating was an issue that the room had a funny smell, but at end of stay was pretty much used to it. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

after reading so many negative comments, I was pleasantly surprised at how big, comfortable and appealing the room was. The room was missing the iron, but was promptly given to us after requested. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. Pool area needs work in regards to the furniture. Close to major highway and easy access All in all a great value.

The hotel is no luxury accomodation hotel, but it was clean, provided easy access to/from airport, and was not too far from cruise ship terminals. The checkout time of 12:00 PM was also helpful in not requiring us to rush to get out of room before we needed to leave. The bar/restaurant on property also provided great service. I would stay here again!

The air conditioning didn't work properly, the bathroom light was out, when I asked for towels they never came. There was hardly any ice in the machines. Overall I was dissatified and I will not be staying at the best western again. I had family members in another room and they had no hot water.

Unhappy with service. Asked for an extra pillow and was told that there were none extra. Strange as there were rooms that were vacant. Was offered shuttle to and from pier where we were to catch ship. Travel to pier was great, travel from pier one week later was terrible. Had to wait nearly 2 hours after being told the wait would be 30 minutes. No apology was offered. Was offered free cocktails and hors d'oeuvres with neither being honoured. Have decided that Best Western is not a business that lives up to it's word and thus I have decided never to stay at a Best Western again. I have had good luck with your chain several times in the past but lying is inexcusable and therefore I can't recommed this chain to anyone again.

This hotel is, at best, better than nothing. The rooms, though clean, had a strange smell and obvious water stain on the walls. They are doing some remodeling to this hotel but it seems to be quite slow in coming. This hotel would be ok for someone more worried about price than looks of the hotel. Also, our A/C made noises all night long. The location is quite good and the rates are even better, at least through this site. Overall, I was most unimpressed by this hotel and really wanted more. I will definitely book much earlier next time for a better selection.

The hotel misleads by keeping the entryway and guest registration area clean and upkept...once you get outside this area to your room...the look is average at best. Service was not that good and I had no hot water for the 2 days I stayed.
