Good dog hotel! - posted on 11/07/2006
While it was not the best hotel I have been in, one must expect less when traveling with their dog(s). You never get the Hilton or Sheridan. All in all it was a decent place to stay for the price.
Good location, shabby hotel - posted on 02/24/2007
Good location, you can walk to Fountain of Youth, Ripley's, the fort, and historic district. Hotel is old and needs to be renovated. A/C unit is very noisy. Staff is clueless- we drove from Orlando and when we got there they could not find our reservation. Gave us a room next to the elevator, kids running around all night long. Would not stay there again if you paid me!

The staff are pleasant and helpful. The lobby was very nice, decorated for christmas. The beds were hard, the pillows were too big. There was mold and mildew in the bathroom. Room itself was clean and nice. I'd say the bathrooms are old and need to be renovated. But, an easy walk to the historic area, only 7 blocks.

The best hotel I have stayed in that was in this price range.I was excited to learn that they allow pets. Plan to return in a couple of weeks and will stay there again.
BUGS! - posted on 07/14/2006
I made a reservation a couple of days prior and when I arrived my room was not ready and I was asked to return later. When I returned, I was given an old dirty room. When I removed the bed cover, I found three big black bugs. I immediately called the front desk and they offered me another room on the fifth floor. This room was clean, renovated, had a brand new A/C, and was bug free. It need to be remolded, and fumigated.

Lacation was great but the carpet needs cleaned or replaced beds like sleeping on a $50 mattress blankets and sheets scary
Great Location - posted on 03/31/2006
The location was perfect. Just a short walk from historical sites. The tour tram picks you up in front of the hotel. The tour was nice. For the price this is a good value. Clean rooms. Ok staff. Hot tub was broken.
Dirty and tired - posted on 02/01/2006
Very disappointed with the room and the property. It was dirty and needed lots of improvement. No one seemed to care if we were a guest or not. Dump!!!
Overpriced - posted on 01/20/2006
I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. The carpets were also very dirty. Most of all I was disappointed to know that there were much nicer places for the very same price that I paid for the room. Would not stay there again. I was so disgusted I would not even allow my children to use the pool.
Just what we needed - posted on 01/17/2006
The rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff was very helpful in getting anything we wanted. For the price, it was just what we needed!
Overall not bad - posted on 01/04/2006
For what it is and for the price it is not a bad Hotel because it is close enough to the good places of St. Augustine that you can walk to. The rooms were pretty good. The service is somewhat lacking but that can be fixed. The rooms seem a bit beat up but they are not unlivable. Tour trains an pick you up at hotel. Also discounts to local attractions and restaurants available at lobby.

The new owners were a lot more accomadating than the previous owners.
Unbelievably run-down - posted on 12/11/2005
Room was damp and dirty. Checked in and found old coffee in coffeemaker and all over sink and vanity. Used towels were hanging on back of bathroom door. Used soap still in tub. Tub had 8" holes in porcelain. Walls visibly dirty with pinkish mold in bathroom. Staff initially unresponsive when asked to clean room, saying housekeeping was off duty, as if that was a suitable reason for staying in a room with a dirty bathroom! Carpet felt damp and gross. This hotel needs major refurbishment before it's suitable for guests.

This is the worst hotel my husband and I have ever stayed at. It was dirty, damp and in need of painting. We were to stay for 3 days; we left the next day

I was very disappointed when I arrived at the Ramada. They told me there was a couch in the room. There is not a couch in any of the rooms. The carpet was absolutely filthy. My 11 month old daughters socks turned black after crawling on the floor. I was very disappointed with the hotel's front desk staff. We were there for 3 nights and 4 days and there was suspicious activity going on in one of the rooms 5 doors down from us. Different cars and trucks kept coming and going to that room and staying only a couple minutes at a time.

The hotel was very dirty. I have an 11 month old daughter and her socks got filthy dirty from crawiling on the floor. I had them shampoo the carpets while we were there. They told me there was a couch in the room, there isn't a couch in ANY of the rooms. THE PICTURES ON THE WEBSITE LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE ACTUAL HOTEL. It was just an awful place to stay.
Great Time! - posted on 06/07/2005
I have stayed at this motel 2 times and have enjoyed my stay both times. This motel is a great value and in a very good location for sightseeing in the historic district. I traveled alone on my last trip and felt very safe walking to and from the motel into the historic district.
