The hotel the day I arrived was under going an inspection so I guess it was as good as it gets.

It was convenient to the area I had business in.

In general the hotel met my expectation, it is nice LY located, with very nice sunset view, and nice walk by the water, it has some nature trail that me and wife enjoyed, the time I spent there was very enjoyable overall, I will go again when I need to.

Good location, easy to get to, fairly safe, nice sunset.

The public area was kind of small and crowded in the morning.

This hotel is beautifully located on the waterfront and overlooking Port Charlotte Bay. It is adjacent to a beautiful park with paved pathways for walking and is close to Fisherman's Village for shopping and the Ponce de Leon Park for nature. It is a tired looking place, though, that is just sloppy. The staff was very uneven in terms of helpfulness and a welcoming attitude, some excellent and others curt. One day our room wasn't refreshed, even though we were away from the hotel for most of the day, and we had to ask for towels because they hadn't been changed. At best, the hotel is lackluster, despite its great location.

Just mediocre.

It looked tired. Staff members were not consistently helpful, some very, some not.

The pet-friendly Best Western Waterfront Punta Gorda is adjacent to Gilchrist Park which has tennis courts, a childrens playground and cycle and walking tracks. Items included with the room rate at this 188-room, five-story hotel are a full hot breakfast, a morning newspaper, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, in-room coffee and parking. There are five meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 400 guests. The property is located off Interstate 75 between Sarasota and Fort Myers, just south of Tampa. Area landmarks and attractions include numerous golf courses, the Gulf of Mexico beaches, the Punta Gorda Convention Center, the Florida Adventure Museum, the Laisley Marina and Fishermans Village which is one mile from the property.

This is a nice hotel for the money but do not expect anything special. Plus points here were the swimming pool and magnificent views over Charlotte Harbor. The breakfast room is too small and many guests complained that they had to wait for a table and those in charge of the buffet were too busy talking to each other to replenish items that had been consumed. There were good reviews though for the front desk staff and many clients said they would stay here again on future visits to Punta Gorda.
