Kids loved the pool!! - posted on 08/21/2005
Our First Time at R.P. Only stayed 1 night to get Express Pass which is a great feature!! Super hawaiian atmosphere; fantastic breakfast buffet. Kids loved the pool; but was dirty by nightime. Smaller room, but comfortable. Poor service; had to call 3 times to get extra pillows. Had to pay for valet parking. Water taxi nice.

The resort was pretty. pool was extra large and clean. resort was clean.Food was good in all restraunts. pricing outrageous. every time you would order a drink or food at pool they would atomatically charge you 18% gratuitdy. the room was expensive for no balcony ,one bedroom, 2 beds.having the express pass for staying at the resort was great.
Somewhat disappointed... - posted on 05/03/2007
Rooms OK. Staff helpful. Emeril's TChuop-Chop Restaurant excellent. Disappointed with ducks flying into the pool, swimming and doing their business in it. Pool and surrounding area could be cleaner, old leaves and cigarette butts strewn about. Food at the other restaurants was so-so. Disappointed there was a charge to use the gym, also charged for an incoming fax. Large convention at the hotel, 50% of pool area closed off to the rest of the guests for 2 nights. Would not go back, but staying on Universal property helpful in having an Express Pass to all attractions.

Not a bad Hotel in reguards to the lowest rate of the property hotels. Great choice in dinning, the express pass is the biggest highlight, the man made mini beach behing the pool is a great place to chill with a cocktail after a long day at the park!

We stayed here on our honeymoon and i have to say we were so well looked after. When we told the staff we were on honeymoon we were greeted by Wine and Choclate strawberries from the hotel which was a very nice jesture. The staff were always on hand for everyneed. Would stay here again. planning a trip back in November this year and its on top of our list. Well worth the extra money. You get what you pay for, pure luxury!!
Great Hotel - posted on 04/10/2007
This is a beautiful, clean, well run hotel. The pool is beautiful and it is great to be so close to the parks. Most of the time we walked, but the water taxi is great too. Staying here is well worth the express pass in the parks. The only minor problem was that housekeeping did not come until after 3 pm on the 2nd night. (Sat) (They were finished by 9 am on the first night.) Their weekend staff may need help. Some reviews say it needs renovations?? Where???? It was beautiful. Tip: Get the breakfast buffet. Well worth the $.
Definitely would go here again - posted on 03/13/2007
We loved the whole "Islands" theme of it, from the lagoon to the restaurants. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location couldn't have been better. You could take a water taxi and be at the gates to Universal in under 5 min. Jake's Restaurant at the hotel had the best mozzarella sticks! View from room was great; palm trees everywhere you could see. Pool was clean and warm at night. No complimentary breakfast; they have a variety of breakfast items for sale everyday. Would definitely come back. Enjoyed it so much!

We found the Royal Pacific to be so much more relaxing than the Hard Rock.,which always had rock music playing.(not that I have anything against rock music)The pool was bigger and nicer, like a lagoon. We felt pampered by the friendly, accommodating staff. I would absolutely return.
Great Resort... - posted on 03/04/2007
This is a great resort, in fact all 3 of the Universal resorts are awesome (Portofino, Royal Pacific, Hard Rock). Very nice pool and excellent service and restaurants. Just be prepared to be nickel-and-dimed on things like Internet Service ($10/day), Parking ($12/day) and any items purchased at the store in the lobby.

From the minute we got there i felt like i was famous. All the employes knew who we were and went out of there way to make sure we had everything we needed. I dont think i could have had a better experince anywhere else. And if that wasnt enough the room key works as an express pass so you dont have to stand in long lines, that in its self is worth the money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone for royal treatment.

room was very small.Carpet was filthy. Bathroom was dirty. Bedspread was stained and it took two days to get it replaced. The rooms need a major renovation.
Great Honeymoon Experience - posted on 02/03/2007
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had a great time. We initially had a gardenview, but mentioned it was our honeymoon and were upgraded to poolside. Staff was very helpful. I would recommend staying in Dec. when it is less crowded.

Check in and check out was fast, and hassle free, beatifull hotel, grounds well kept, spacious clean well decorated rooms, poolside bar and resturants had good food, and great service, poolside movies at night was a fun addition, overall a great value in that area, also was very convienant to gettins to universal citywalk and parks, also great pool, and two nice hot tubs, only thing there are alot of kids around, so if you dont like kids that could be a draw back, personally ,that didnt bother me a bit.
Poor Parking - posted on 12/07/2006
Nice hotel, but you are charged for parking wether you valet or self park. Also, the charge is daily. So remember to tack on an additonal $12-18/day when deciding wether to stay here or not.

The hotel was nice. The concierge was very helpful. The transportation to Universal and the City Walk was fantastic. Transportation to other parks was scarce and hotel staff was not helpful in that aspect.

over all I enjoyed my visit but most of our time was spent at the parks. This hotel needs a major overhaul . the rooms had a worn out look to it. It would seem to me that a Hotel that claims to be a four diamond establishment would keep up with its appearance.

Great Hotel - posted on 09/25/2006
The hotel was very nice and clean, friendly staff and great location for Universal. The rooms were a little on the small side but nice, we requested a room with a pool view but were put on the second floor and couldn?t see anything but a ledge out side our window. One of the best features is the express pass for Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios; you don?t have to wait on any lines and there in a special entrance on the rides where you show your room key and walk right to the front of the line!!! Overall great hotel would stay there again.
Great Hotel - posted on 09/13/2006
This hotel seems to cater to families as well as business travelers. The customer service was great. We had an issue with our park tickets and the concierge was wonderful at resolving it for us. Our kids loved the pool area especially the movies that you could watch in the evening while you were swimming. My husband and I loved the restaurants. "Made to order" items for the adults and a great kids buffet complete with kid friendly food. The water taxis were convenient to Universal Studios and we loved having the express pass for the long lines.

This was our third stay at this hotel. We decided to get a King suite which is a 2 room suite with a king bed and a couch which opens to a bed. The pullout bed was terrible, Springs coming thru the mattress. Also the couch is only a double, so it was hard to sleep on the couch. 2 tv's in the room is convenient however we were next to the service elevators and could hear the staff going in and out, We had a view of the trees and stream in front of the hotel. The pool view we had before is definitely nicer. The Island Restaurant's Mahi Mahi was excellent.

guest self park is $12.78/day. Internet connect $10.00/day. Had a soaked carpet in the bedroom from a leak in the bathroom when we checked in. Was not repaired, dried or a replacement room offered. some great rides and attractions but WAY too many "carny" games for additional money. Room 2416

We stayed for our 10 year anniversary. We ate at Emeril's Tchoup Chop and we loved the whole experience! The service was great & so was the food. The hotel was wonderful. As others have said, it's very nice to have the express-pass privileges. We rode all the rides in just a couple hours each day. It was awesome! We'll be back with the kids next time.

Beautiful hotel. Beautiful gardens, beautiful decor in lobby, hallways, restuarants. Room, however, was small, ordinary decor (no beautiful asian wood carvings here!), wasn't clean, and was next to Pet Park. Lovely view of dogs urinating/defecating! The rooms in less expensive hotels are just as nice. We received two adult/two child seven day passes to Universal, but wasted one child pass because Concierge refused to exchange it for something else. Guess we should have had another baby after all! Finally, $10.65 a day to self-park is outrageous!
Good overall, but a few glitches - posted on 06/23/2006
The landscaping is beautiful; the staff is polite and helpful. We were first placed in a room next door to a barking dog. They did find another room for us. One day our room wasn't cleaned by 4:30 and I called the desk and asked that it be cleaned by 2:30 the following day, but it wasn't. Our maid said she did not get that request, but she was kind enough to clean it next. Emeril's is beautiful and the food is great, though pricy. The food at the other restaurants is not great but okay.

I was in town on business and got to spend some extra time here and go to Universal. I got fantastic service from beginning to end! I also have pets, so now I have a place that I can bring my furry family members, too and not leave them with neighbors or at a kennel.
Royal Pacific Resort/Universal Vacation - posted on 06/15/2006
Certainly no complaints on the Royal Pacific Resorts on a recent Universal Studio Vacation to Orlando. The close proximity to the parks and the Express Pass (your room key) was certainly worth the visit. The decor of the "ports" of the South Seas was felt throughout the hotel, especially nice in the Orchid Court area and the overlook from the walkway for the main entrance. I booked a standard room and was certainly adequate and comparable to other vacation resort properties.
Fantastic time - posted on 06/11/2006
This is a beautiful resort. All of the staff was beyond hospitable. Emeril's Tchoup-Chop is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Only gripe was waiting 2 hrs after their check in time before room was ready but this was following the Memorial day weekend. I plan to go back next year.
An Okay Trip - posted on 06/10/2006
This hotel has wonderful landscaping and the rooms are average size. It was very clean, but check in was AWFUL!! We arrived at 9 am and check in is at 2 pm but we did not get into our room untill 4pm!! And it took a lot of complaining to get in at that time. The express pass is COMPLETELY worth staying in the park. We walked up and go immediately onto every ride. The boat ride to the park takes a while because you have to wait for the boat and the walk is pretty long to the park, but I would stay here again.
Great Hotel & Experience - posted on 05/23/2006
This is an excellent hotel in every way, we have stayed here three times and love it. The landscaping is beautiful and the pool very nice. Universl Express is definitely a bonus and worth it! Wish the rooms were a little bigger, for four people, it is quite cramped. I also think the 10.00 per day plus tax fee for self-parking is ridiculous. Other than these two things, everything else at Royal Pacific is just wonderful.
Relax you have an Express Pass - posted on 04/28/2006
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times. The service can be slow, it is a busy hotel. The rooms are fairly clean and there is a lot you can do on site. Most important theme park vacations can wipe you out, but with the express pass you really can take time to ride rides, see shows, shop, relax by the pool, take an afternoon nap, and even go out at night. The hotel is not perfect but its nice and its worth the extra money to have a relaxing vacation.
mistake - posted on 04/09/2006
Check in was unpleasant and had to wait two and a half hours for room. water view was blocked by trees and widows were so dirty you could barely see out. pool was over crowded and could not even use it. Many additional fees.
Great times - posted on 04/09/2006
This is my second trip to Universal's orlando and I stayed at the Royal Pacific both times. It's so convienence to stay here cause of the express pass and it's close to everything. They even have free shuttle bus to seaworld and wet and wild. The conceire was very attentive to my every request. The pool is great for the kids especially the sandy beach. A great place for family to stay and play. Try Pastamore at city walk, pasta and pizza, it's great and inexpensive.

Excellent, but.. - posted on 03/25/2006
Great staff, eats, VERY SAFE property; however, rooms need updating and built to theme the dramatic eye-popping first floor entrance; The Fees are Coming: in-room internet, self parking; WARNING: You will die without an express pass to parks; Universal has roudy-queue-jumping crowd; check Sea World shuttle schedule, doorman needs assistant; Expected more room value for the $$$; did not get requested and reserved lagoon view room. Plan extra day to see amazing lagoon gardens on property! You can save money elsewhere but to be safe and worry-free, this is the place.
Poor Cust. Service - posted on 03/23/2006
Service could be improved. Room wasn't ready and rollway didn't get to our room until 2am. Pool too crowded to find place to sit. Boat shuttle was great for City Walk.
Rides access better than rooms! - posted on 03/17/2006
We were willing to pay a premium during school vacation week for our room to get express ride access. The 1st room they assigned us had ants. The 2nd was ant-free, but not great... cracked sink, stained & worn carpeting, dirty drinking glasses. Only good thing were the mattresses. The pool is beautiful and great for kids. Concierge service is top notch, but don't be fooled by promise of priority seating at popular CityPlace restaurants. Many don't honor it. Pet peeve - paying $10/day to self park.
Always a pleasure - posted on 02/17/2006
I have stayed here several times. It is always clean and the staff is fantastic. The pool area is great and there is lots to do. While it can be pricey- go during the week. The pass ensures short waits in the lines. To me- Priceless!!! With the unlimited express from the Universal hotels you can go anywhere back and forth all day. It is so close by- just a quick walk or boat ride. I have 3 children, and they all love it! OOOh, especially the kid's buffet room in the restaurant! Complete with giant bed and flat screen TV's. Again- highly reccomend this hotel or any on the Universal property!
It's about the card, not the room - posted on 12/30/2005
The shower head was almost like a garden hose...unformed and low pressure. Clean (but small room). But the reason we shelled out for this was the unlimited express the room key gives you...always worth it.
worst hotel ever - posted on 12/18/2005
I arrive at the hotel when i check in they tell me the pool is closed from Dec 18-24. This hotel needs to be bulldozed and start over. The rooms are nasty and very small. I would not recomend this hotel to any one. Bottle water in room $7.00 and the dust on all over the furniture. Bedding looks thrity years old.
Thanksgiving at R.P. - posted on 11/28/2005
While the rooms were small, they are adequate for a couple. While clean, the bedding was surprisingly worn and a bit shabby. Breakfast in the lobby was fine, free refills in coffee until 11Am a big plus

Visited in between Hurricanes and still had a wonderful time. Enjoyed the bar and comfy lounge, pool was great..as was the "dive-in movie". The night of the luau they were afraid of rain and held the luau indoors which was terrible!! (it never rained) Overall a great place. Most people are rarely in their rooms so room size is irrelevant.
Just OK - posted on 05/03/2005
Not what I expected from a Loews Hotel. Rooms small and worn, mold in bathroom tiles. Pool was good unless you wanted service, had to ask 3 people to send a waiter. Charge for self parking was frustrating. I would try someplace else next time for the $$$$.
Great Perks, but small size - posted on 04/21/2005
the room at Royal Pacific were cramped (and we were a family of four). Although you really don't stay in the room for more than sleeping, it would be nice to be able to stretch out. The pool area was good. We also were impressed with the Breakfast Buffet. Express Pass for the parks, though, made it totally worth it.

We just visited this hotel, and we were very disappointed, the room was extremely small. The manager was gracious but we will definitely stay at the Hard Rock or Portofino in the future
