The 96-room Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Orlando Near Universal Orlando Resort is across the street from Universal Studios and provides reasonably priced accommodation for families on vacation and the business traveler. The six-story, non smoking hotel operates a complimentary scheduled shuttle service with centralized pick up to the parks including Sea World, Aquatica, Sea World's new water park, and Wet n' Wild. Other items included with the room rate are an expanded continental breakfast, high-speed Internet access, parking, a morning newspaper, local telephone calls and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The inn also offers free transpiration to some area golf courses. All the Walt Disney World attractions are a 20-minute drive away.

Families loved this location so close to Universal Studios. They said the rates were reasonable, the staff was efficient and friendly and the accommodation clean, comfortable and spacious. There were complaints that at times it was noisy. But this is Orlando, a paradise for children having fun, and not a retreat in the country. All the guestrooms, and 20 suites, have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, two-line telephone with voicemail and speakerphone, coffee and tea making facilities, cable television with more than 30 movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, pullout sofa bed, iron and ironing board, alarm clock and a hairdryer. The suites have a living area, partially separated sleeping area and a microwave oven.

This inn has an outdoor swimming pool, whirlpool and an exercise room. There is a Bally Total Fitness Center one mile from the property. The hot breakfast, with the Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich, is the only meal served here but there are numerous places to eat close by. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on all the Orlando events and attractions. Other amenities include a coin-operated laundry, copy and fax machines for guest use, vending machines and a dry-cleaning service.
