The Castle - posted on 06/01/2007
We had a great time, and alot of it was due to our stay at " The Castle". They had a great staff, and really clean and comfterable rooms.
No budget breakfast available - posted on 03/06/2007
$7.00 for a muffin, coffee & very sm juice is rather steep and don't have kid sized either had to pay $11.00 for 3 pancakes & sausage - the eating area was cramped! Have a few tables so if you don't get a seat have to walk thru lobby to take back to rm on the elevator not real convenient! Since their decor is geared for kids (medieval castle) they should implement more kid-friendly meals & activities!

The front desk person failed to tell us simple details that would have been nice to know. We took the kids to the "heated" pool which was freezing cold. The parking lot was a nightmare! The shower was awful - no water pressure. Housekeeping was very rude.
GREAT stay every time!!! - posted on 02/16/2007
Every time I go to Orlando (two - three times a year) I always stay at the Castle! It's beautiful, the staff is awesome, the restaurants are great, the pool is warm and gorgeous, the spas are perfect. The one stay that wasn't spectacular the front staff and manager fixed immediately, moved our room and gave a free breakfast the next morning. No complaints. They have my business every trip! The parking lot is a little small, but I never have a problem finding a space, though it could use some expansion. Great place to stay if you are ever in the area!!
Incorrect Overcharges - posted on 02/08/2007
Entire hotel stay was paid in full. The hotel tried to charge us additional tax upon checkout. We confronted them with our receipt and after much discussion, they finally removed the tax from the charge card. The couple in back of us said that they were in line for the same thing - to have the charge removed from their bill because they paid in full when they purchased the hotel online.

The parking lot is smal and completely full, therefore we had to drag our luggage a great distance in order to get to the front door. Once inside, we found the enviroment nice. The front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms were also nice and comfortable. Our view was, however a bit much. We had to see the adjacent a/c unit on the next roof over. YUK! The hotel was within walking distance of shopping and eating, therefore we did more walking than normal. Overall, the price was right and we had a great time there.

All ice machines empty. All vending machines empty. Horrible front desk. Poor housekeeping. Expected more from Castle and from DoubleTree.
Very nice place but..... - posted on 04/16/2006
The accommodations at this hotel were great. Room was very clean, beds & bedding were very comfortable, pool was awsome. Only drawback was that my sick daughter had left her expensive quilt (which she always travels with) in the room, went back right away and was told that housekeeping had already cleaned the room and found nothing, which can only mean that housekeeping found and kept the blanket, since we know that this is where we left it. I've kept calling but I'm always told they found nothing.
Our stay at the DoubleTree Castle - posted on 01/20/2006
Our stay was so much fun. The hotel is right in the middle of everything. The hotel is nice and clean. The staff is friendly. We had a very good stay and we will be staying there again in the future.
great stay - posted on 11/10/2005
it was a little pricey to stay here but it was really nice, we only stayed one night but the staff was very friendly, we were able to have late checkout and the pool was awesome with the fountain
Just what we expected - posted on 04/07/2005
We booked our room online and were not disappointed. The room was clean and comfortable. Not enough drawer space for all 5 of us. Bathroom was crowded but manageable. Could see Disney fireworks from our room. Pool clean. Staff friendly and helpful.Convenient
A good place - posted on 03/27/2005
We really enjoyed our stay. The theme was at just the right dose and the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The built in sound system that played classical music and various natural earth sounds was a nice touch. We really enjoy sampling hotels in Orlando and this is one of the more enjoyable ones we have found at a reasonable price.

This hotel is overpriced and over-rated. Won't stay there again. Not kid friendly. Staff service was unpredidtable-sometimes good other times terrible. Located in the lobby was a desk to obtain "discount park tickets" but really he was selling time shares. Very annoying. The rooms are very smalland plain - not really at all how they describe. Close to I-Drive trolley stop and other restaurants and hotels, shopping, etc. I'll stay someplace else next time. l
Bad Service - posted on 11/30/2004
Our room had a brown paper bag taped to the wall. The maid service was HORRIBLE!!!! I will NEVER stay at this hotel again!!! It is over priced!!
