Highlight of the vacation - posted on 07/28/2005

I took a 9 year old to Orlando for 5 nights. Unfortunately, our budget didn't stretch far enough to stay each night at the Nickelodeon Suites. If you ask my son what he enjoyed most on the vacation, before he mentions Universal, Sea World, beach visits, or anything else (except the Magic Kingdom) it's this hotel.

We had a blast! No bed bugs, no bad service. The food was okay, definitely needs some improvement. My kids think I am the best mom in the world. The staff was excellent and extremely friendly. I would go back as soon as possible.

Great idea, terrible management! - posted on 10/17/2005

Do not stay at this hotel!! At one point we asked for an extra pillow; we cancelled the request at 10 pm and they actually tried to deliver at 4 am! When we complained, we did not even get an apology. This is just one example of the poor management at the hotel. On the plus side, the pools are great and the lifeguards friendly and firmly in control. I suggest you run, not walk, away from this hotel!

No Fun Here - posted on 10/03/2005

This hotel has the worse service of any hotel in the disney area. Long lines at check-in with terrible service. Parking was crazy with not enough spots for customers... Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Kids will enjoy it - posted on 09/28/2005

Our kids, 9 and 6, really enjoyed the room and the pool as well as the arcade. It is very convenient to WDW parks and close to dining and shopping. The only complaint was that when the place was busy (which was only one night), the parking was limited and, therefore, frustrating. We can't comment on the food or activities because we didn't utilize them.

Don't waste your money - posted on 08/24/2005

Dirty rooms, dirty pool, dirty public areas, food is terrible, carpeting heavily spotted, roaches in closet, stick to the floors in eating areas, very understaffed, LAZY housekeeping, poor transportation to parks, absolutely don't ruin your vacation by staying here, you can do way better for the money, we regret every day that we spent here.

This place was a mess. The place is dirty, the pool blares loud music till 9 pm, the food in the buffett is terrible, and the staff isn't good. My kids love Nickelodeon, but this even turned them off. Great concept, terrible execution

A very hard to please Mom was finally pleased!!! - posted on 05/29/2007

I visited the hotel in June 2005 with my husband and two kids then age 10 and 2. The youngest girl still talks about the hotel and wants to go back. The oldest child had a blast as well. The rooms were amazing.I am a big kid and I loved the feel of the hotel and the kidsuites. We were able to have the privacy of our own bedroom with the amenities of a hotel. Room service was excellent and kept all toiletries and condiments replenished. I cant wait to go back although I see the hotel has raised it's prices!!! 'They definitely need more deals!!

Best Hotel for Families - posted on 05/09/2007

We stayed here for a weekend a decided to come back & celebrate my girl's 4th birthday party. Everything was great, service awesome. I didn't have to decorate or clean. The most beautiful birthday for my little Princess. Even Dora came to congratulate my little one and her friends! Will go back again, very soon!

A wonderful family vacation - posted on 05/07/2007

This was our 3rd year returning to the Nick Hotel and we'll be back next year. Our 5 & 6 year olds can not get enough of the Nick Hotel...we never went to Disney. There is so much for the kids to do...its ALL about the kids and that's what we love about it! Everyone is friendly and its just a wonderful family experience!!!

Plan Ahead or Lose Out - posted on 03/08/2007

Reservations were a nightmare. We got 14 rooms and not a single discount from the hotel. If you wait until last minute you can get a great deal. They discontinued the free meals for the kids. The shows were very hard to book. You have to plan in advance if you want the whole experience. The rooms were great. The beds were hard as a rock didn't sleep well

Nick Hotel is Great! - posted on 01/07/2007

My family and I have yearly passes to WDW. This was our 3rd visit to this great hotel. Check-in is hassle free and the staff is always there to make you comfortable. We took a friend and his daughter this time and he was amazed how every single staff member will greet you from concierge to ground maitenance. Food in the court could be a little better. I have found the price of the character breakfast is worth it in order to gain a better menu. The hotel is ALL ABOUT THE KIDS!!! If you are a kid at heart though you will love it all the same. Recomend this resort highly.

Be Warned - posted on 12/31/2006

A total dissappointment. At $* a night, there is no value for adults and minimal for kids. Be prepared to pay for movies (10$ a movie), games etc. in the rooms even though they claim to cater to kids. Be prepared for a dirty room with broken furniture, broken drapes, an upcharge for anything kid related, and that even the kids will get sick of the "kid buffet." What an absolute waste of money - such a shame that the kids remember the lousy hotel conditions more than the disney parks!!

Clean,Comfy,Lots of fun!!! - posted on 11/13/2006

I took my kids ages 6&7 late Sept early Oct and we had the absolute best time. The staff were great, the lifeguards very alert, the place was clean and very safe and comfortable. Stay on the higher floors as the ground floor offers little privacy, and plan to go during the week as it's PACKED on the weekends, rent a car and enjoy some quality time.

Awesome Time! - posted on 09/11/2006

We loved this hotel! As an avid Disney fan, I've got to say I may stay at this hotel for our entire visit next year instead of just a few days. My kids loved everything about staying here. My husband and I found the food to be acceptable and reasonably priced. A few days is definately not enough time to enjoy this hotel to the fullest!

Great for kids - posted on 08/03/2006

Nick Hotel was a lot of fun. We did ask to have our room moved to a higher floor because of the pool noise. They have activities during the day you can sign up for. They have a NickStudio where you can send your kids for several hours and then have an evening out. Character breakfast was good for lots of pictures. Lots of ways to spend money, of course. Guest services were very helpful in setting up activities. If we go again, I think I'd only stay 2 nights since once you've been there 2-3 days you've done all the activities they can offer.

Great for Families with kids 12 and under. - posted on 06/08/2006

The Nick Hotel is the perfect place to stay for families with kids 12 and under (older kids will enjoy it too, but you may need to take them off the grounds for extra entertainment). My five year old liked this place so much, she preferred staying at the hotel more than going to the disney parks.

Great fun but don't eat here! - posted on 05/26/2006

We booked this hotel as we have 4 kids, it was clean and well kept, the staff great the facilities although closed while we were there were very kid friendly. The rooms while clean were not serviced, in 6 days our linen was not changed and trash can not emptied. The food was very kid friendly, mac & cheese, hot dogs and what not. Loads of junk food. The kids loved it, my husband and I literally got sick. The shuttle service was very restricted. We wont stay there again. It is very family friendly but for a little more you could stay at a Resort.

Family Fun Resort - posted on 04/20/2006

This was better than going to the theme parks. In fact, the daytime activities were great because it wasn't too crowded. The place only really got crowded at night when everyone returned from the parks. I only wish that the second bedroom in the family suites had a door, not just a curtain. Also, the breakfast buffet food would have been a better value if it was free, or if they improved the quality of the food. The selection was terrific, but the old potatoes, tough sausage and the powdered eggs were pretty poor.

A great place for a family with children to stay - posted on 03/23/2006

The Nick Hotel is a great place for families with all age children to stay. Staying only one night wouldn't be enough to enjoy it all and the two swimming areas are like little water parks in themselves. A lot of attention is focused on making the children feel welcome and keeping them busy. Some extras at the hotel are a little pricey like the character breakfast but a fun place to stay and come back to after a day at the theme parks.

Best Family Vacation - posted on 02/06/2006

We loved this hotel! stayed Jan. 29th through Feb.1, 2006. Our Spongebob bunkbed room was clean & comfortable. pools & waterslides were awesome. food & kids eat free program was good. did a character breakfast met spongebob, squidward, dora, coso & wanda. shows at night were great too. There was game shows &karoke and my kids loved them all. I would highly recomend staying at this hotel there is so much to do that you don't need to leave to go to any theme parks but if you do the hotel has free shuttles too. I rate this hotel with an A+++!

Great wait staff - posted on 01/29/2006

Took my 5 year old son here and he loved it! The pools, games and waitstaff were fantastic. Really kid oriented and aimed to please. Only problem was with front desk staff, they messed up our reservation and checked us out of the room 5 days early. They were very apologetic and fixed the problem quickly.

terrible stay - posted on 01/29/2006

went for a weekend arrived at 7pm.did not get a room until well after 11pm. told there were issues but not what they were. given a ticket to buffet dinner as a makeup. food was disgusting, buffet terrible food not even edible. it took us 2hrs just to get a table despite the fact that there were many empty tables. never told the reason for this either. arcade very disappointing, there are better arcades in the mall. pool was nice room ok but the price paid was way beyond what this experience was worth.

good experince except the food - posted on 12/28/2005

The food stinks... It was cold, expensive and hard. My kids would not eat it. I do not recommend the so called free breakfast within nickelodeon. We never saw any prices for the food and assumed free meal for kids would be an inexpensive meal. Not so. They dont tell you any of this up front. My husband and I ordered omlets made by the cook in the buffet line and they cost extra,The food to say the least was gross. Our bill was $58.00 for 2 adult and 3 kids. The hotel pool is cool and staff very nice. Just eat any where else. Even Pizza Hut and A & W food was pre-prepared and very old.

I was somewhat apprehensive at the high cost per night. I soon found out that there are lots of activities for the kids included. Rooms clean, no bugs. Service was prompt. Food was tasty. Did have a mixup about room charges (double charges). KIds would rather be at hotel than Disney...cheaper too! We only stayed one night, but a overall good experience.

My grandchildren, ages 12 and 6 didn't want to go to the Disney parks because they were having so much fun at this hotel. Great Fun at Nick - posted on 11/07/2005

3 TV's & kids room, fridge and micro had many meals in-room. Little things wouldn't work, staff promptly remedy. Poolside music starts 9am is loud in room. Don't think you'll find as great pool area, large arcade, Nick shows, face painting, balloon art, and on-site character meals anywhere else. Used rental car as bus times didn't look good. This is a huge hotel with many poolside rooms. Hotel was sold out one night and could not tell it while using the hotel facilities. Slow elevator, stay low. Room internet service is cheap but didn't work.

Kids really loved the place! Only the buffet food was a disappointment. The suites with a kid's room were large and had the right amenities. Service was quick and friendly, and problems were handled very quickly. Would return again, and recommend for anyone with kids. We found the room a better deal than a Disney moderate hotel.
