The hotel and stay was great. Only drawback would be the price of snacks and drinks. Outrageous. Walgreens is walking distance so that helps in the wallet a bit.

honestly,,,,,the room was fine, old and dated, but thats alright,,,,it was clean and beds were comfy,,,,,if not staying on universal property hotels,,,,this one is the closest,,,,,would i stay there again,,,No,,,, spend a few dollars more and stay on site property.........

Room had a terrible odor to it. TV didn't work, carpet was filthy. Personnel at desk had cavalier attitude. Will never stay at another Double Tree again.

I understand that they expect our room to smell because we are smokers, but the smell of mold/mildew made the room worth even less than the discounted price! I had to buy incense and use air freshener the entire time we were there!

Great Location! Very clean rooms! Wonderful Customer Service! Pleasant view!!Tastefull free cookies! Universal across the street! Variety of in-house restaurants!Great Bar!! The family loved this hotel. I will visit this hotel again!!

The reviews of everyone else assisted in making this decision. The Customer Service was great. The rooms spacious and clean. The lobby and onsite restaurants were convenient and attractive. Optional Valet Parking a +++

Hotel was great. Starbucks on ground floor. Big, clean swimming pool. Very friendly staff. Great customer service, which is rare these days. Easy access to Universal. Shuttle times limited, but cab only cost $5. Would stay there again.

This hotel is conveniently located for Universal guests. Friendly staff, clean room, bedding and bathroom. No noticable noises from neighboring guests.

Our trip was to move our son to FL. to begin college. The location was great, the employees were courtious and we really enjoyed our stay.

My experience at this hotel was wonderful, everything was excellent. The rooms were kept clean the bathroom was beautiful.My husband and I went for our honeymoon at this hotel and I want to go back as soon as we get a change. Everybodys experience is different , but I have to say that My experience was the best here, especially since the hotel is close to so many attractions and shoping centers.You just have to experience it for your self.

checking in @ 5:30 when my room should have been available at 4pm, i was told my room was not available, i had to ask for the upgrade plus my reservation had been made 5weeks prior to my arrival. I was out of my room for 12 hours one day and the room never got cleaned. Construction is dangerous.

Everything was fine, except for a billing problem that took several tries to rectify (a mistaken charge to our room for meals that we did not consume).

The bathroom needed a working fan; There was hair on the bathroom floor when we first went it; No toilet paper in the room when we got there; very noisy during the day as rooms were being remodeled. They shouldn't put people on floors when they are working on the rooms. A big crack along the door left a lot of light in at night. Had to use bedspread to hang and block out the light. Don't plan on going back unless it's business. If there was room, I'd write more.

If you can't afford to stay at an expensive resort inside Universal, this is the next best thing. . .walking distance to the park, or a $4. cab ride. Rooms were clean & great Starbucks in the lobby. There are also restaurants and a drug store w/in walking distance. I'd stay here again when going to Universal.

The staff was extremely friendly & always helpful. The pool was wonderful & was not full until a large group of children went swimming. Working in the travel industry for well over 2 years I must say this hotel was wonderful. It is not a fancy hotel but definetley a great bargain. My only complaint is the lighting in the rooms. I do believe we were in a renovated room, as requested, the only lgihting was 2 lamps & of course the light in the bathroom. The rooms definetley could use additional lighting options.

We spent 8 days here.Spa still not working.Rooms musty smelling,no fan in bathroom,I had to ask for a new shower curtain liner because there was mold on the bottom.They did replace it the same day. The staff was very good,the pool was nice and warm. We had to run the shower water 5 minutes before we took one to make the water warm enough and there was no hot water at the sink.No childrens activities and you have to pay 5.00 a day to park there.I would not give this more than a 2.5 rating. We will not be staying there again.

We stayed at the doubletree last month while on vacation for spring break. The front desk gave us wrong times for the universal shuttle. They were extremely slow at pizza hut. We game up on trying to get a wake up call after thirty minutes on hold. Hotel is close to Universal and designed well but the service was simply terrible. We were able to walk to Universal but you have to cross three busy intersections. It is close to many places to eat. Jacuzzi still closed.

My 1st time to Florida. The cst service was great. Bathroom could of been a little bigger with a vent and some light ( too dim ) Way too many functions going on no where to park. I had to park almost neat the other hotel felt I should of checked in there.If you want to be close to universal this is where to stay if you are looking for glamour this is where not to stay

If anything, this hotel has a tremendous view of Universal Orlando and the surrounding area. However, we had several problems which brought this rating down to a 3. First off, I reserved 2 rooms and when I arrived they only had 1. But to their credit they found me a room. The wallpaper in the bathrooms were of terrible design an were peeling. I would go there again but make sure ahead of time on the rooms
