The 290-room Marriott Orlando Downtown is located directly across from the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center and the Amway Arena and provides affordable quality accommodation for both the business and leisure traveler. The 15-story, non-smoking hotel has 11 rooms for social or business functions. The largest, the Total Ballroom, can accommodate 700 guests. Items included in the room rate are high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, a morning newspaper and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. There are two golf courses a short drive from the property as is the Thornton Park restaurant and shopping complex. The property has good access to I-4 putting Orlando’s major attractions like Walt Disney World and Universal Studios within a 30-minute drive.

Some say this is a marvelous Marriott others term it marginal. Plus factors are comfortable beds, good accommodations and a great crew of friendly and efficient employees. Minus items are the location, which is not considered the best part of downtown and several clients reported damage to their vehicle in the parking lot. All the guestrooms, and nine suites, have a large work desk with high-speed Internet access, dual line telephone with voicemail and speakerphone, cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, minibar, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and bathrobes.

The hotel’s Livingston Street Café is open for breakfast and lunch and the Spectators Sports Lounge is open for lunch and dinner. Room service is available from 6am until 11pm and the front desk has a list of restaurants that will deliver to the hotel. The hotel has an outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool and an updated fitness center. Safe deposit boxes are available at the front desk. Other amenities include a concierge desk, an ATM machine, full service business center, shoeshine stand, on-site laundry, valet dry-cleaning and vending machines.

From Orlando International Airport (MCO) 13 miles: Exit airport via West exit taking to 528 west. Take 528 west (toll) to I-4 east. I-4 east to exit 83B (Amelia Street). Make a left from the exit, next left onto Hughey, next right onto Livingston Street. The hotel is on the left.
