Customer Reviews for Days Inn at Maingate of Universal Orlando

close but cold - posted on 04/17/2007

Although the motel is close to Universal studion and seaworld and the room were decent, the front desk personnel were not friendly or accomodating. We arrived from our flight @12 pm and did not realize that check in wasn't until 4pm- We were traveling with 2 minors - one of which is autistic- and were not given any attempt to enter our rooms earlier- we had to figure out what 2 do for 4 hrs with 2 kids and luggage to tote around- we did not get our key until 4:15

very disappointed - posted on 04/09/2007

we drove from daytona beach after a day in the sun & wanted to shower, there was 3 of us with only 2 towels, we called several times for extra towels & we never got them. the area we we in (blg e) seemed to have pepole living there. they played loud hip-hop music with the door open till 2 in the am. we called several times, nothing done. the next day we came back from the park & our room was not made up at 8pm. that night another pary broke out. security did come this time but we had a wake up call at 3:34am. we check out the next day!

unhappy - posted on 03/07/2007

The beds were uncomfortable, you could only shower in the bathtub because of plumbing problems, we only had three towels in a room for four, the ice machine on our floor did not work, there were no towels provided for the pool, and at three o'clock in the morning we were awakened by an on going party in the parking lot below our room.

Needs Improvment - posted on 08/18/2006

Rooms smell,AC units dont work well(one had to be replaced in the middle of the night),operator/front desk hard to get a hold of. Wake up calls never came to me. Customer Service needs to improve. Overall I was unhappy and did talk to managment who just said "Sorry, here's your bill".

DIRTY!!! - posted on 04/07/2006

We had 2 rooms, one for my in-laws. Our room was so dirty, stains on the walls the water in the tub wouldn't turn off. Not a drip, but was actually running! My in-laws checked their room, trash shoved under the bed. And it was just cleaned. Bad experience. We walk out. Pictures are not what I saw. Will spend the money next time for something nicer!!!

Great for the budget-minded - posted on 07/03/2005

Yes, the hotel is older and a little run down. They are remodeling one room at a time. The staff was very helpfull and friendly. They house a lot of foreign exchange students, so it was always a busy place. The room was clean, but had water damage and the bathroom needed some repair around the tub and wall. But no bugs, mold, hair, or any other gross stuff. We asked for the room to be vaccummed so that our baby could crawl, and it was done on a daily basis. The pool was nice to relax in and open late. Expect a little less for the money and you won't be disappointed.

my family had a great time pool was nice, free food for the kids, kids loved the arcade, universal was in walking distance, otherwise free shuttle to universal and disney, i dont know where all the negatives are at i didnt see one except for the rooms need fluffier pillows if you complaining about the room you are spending too much time in your room and not enjoying everything orlando has to enjoy if you book early get a great rate i paid $36.00 a night and that was over spring break cant beat that price for 2 double beds and kids 12 and under ate free

Don't Stay Here - posted on 06/17/2005

Check-in was easy but it was all down hill from there. It's NOT walking distance from universal, its 4 miles away! Mold in bathroom smelled and check-out took forever. The employees were to busy on the phone to help anyone.

Basic, Local, Cheap - posted on 06/07/2005

We had a plain, clean room and that is all we needed. The pool was nice at night. Manned Security was visually present, petroling the property. ask me any more questions !!

My experience... - posted on 05/26/2005

Generally, you get what you pay for. In this case, you get LESS. It is a run-down facility. When I arrived at about 11:30 PM, the doors to the lobby were locked and I had to check-in via a security window like you would find at a gas station in an unsafe area of NYC at midnight. I'm sure the check-in desk attendant felt safe, but I didn't!
