Extremely Disappointed - posted on 07/10/2006
This is a warning to anyone who wants a good night's sleep and is relying on the Howard Johnson name. There is a Latino disco/bar that plays until 2:00AM. The music is DEAFENING - lyrics clearly heard on upper floor. We complained to the night manager at midnight and he could NOT have cared less. The day manager was no help, refused to refund our money, and grudgingly cancelled our next two nights and authorized a refund. The wait staff did not understand english well enough to take an order, either. ZERO rating if I could!!!
No Shuttle!!! - posted on 02/23/2006
When booking this hotel, I was under the impression that the hotel had a shuttle to and from the airport. To make a long story short, my mother and I waited for this shuttle for over 3 hours, being told by the hotel one was on the way. We took a taxi. Once at the hotel, no one was willing to offer any compensation for the poor service, not even an apology. Rooms were clean enough. Far from beach

The gym needs to be open easily. I could never get in when I wanted to. The continental breakfast could be improved. Entertainment in the lounge could be a little more diverse. Overall, rooms are in good shape.
Decent stay - posted on 01/07/2006
This hotel had good sized rooms that were fairly clean. The staff, especially the housekeeping staff was very friendly. Only 1 of 3 elevators were working, and the one that did was barely hanging on. The price was probably a little high for this hotel, and not in that great of a location - decent if you're just looking for something closer to the airport.

O.K. - posted on 05/09/2005
We stayed at this hotel for one night prior to a cruise. It was O.K.. Affordable. Rooms were clean, although they had no record of me at check in. Only thing we found distasteful was their restaurant. It was below average, and we weren't looking for much at a Ho Jo's.
Good value - posted on 03/07/2005
Recently renovated, pool still under renovations. Nice clean and spacious rooms, good value for the money. Breakfast wasn't much to speak of. Only real complaint was trying to find it. We drove there on our own and the addresses just didn't add up, come to find that the street it is on has two differenty numbering sequences. Nice affordable hotel though.

Room was ok, but the halls are quite dreary. The free breakfast was laughable. The pool area has been under renovation for a long time and doesn't look like it'll be ready anytime soon.
My experience... - posted on 01/25/2005
This hotel was GREAT!! About 18 min from Miami airport, fairly quiet, concierge was OUTSTANDING... went above and beyond, making sure we made it to the port of Miami for our cruise (on time)... If you're cruising, take their shuttle vs taxi with a per minute rate because of the possibility of sitting in heavy traffic at the port and paying for it. Hotel offered very clean rooms/bathrooms, nice extras (shampoo etc...), food was fairly inexpensive and VERY good at their restaurant. Will stay there again!
