Customer Reviews for Circa 39 Hotel

Excellent Staff - posted on 11/15/2006

Circa 39 is a small but lovely hotel. The decor in the hallways is a little strange but the rooms are very clean and tidy. The service is exemplary. All of our questions were answered knowledgeably and the staff had a happy wonderful attitude. Their slogan was "let us spoil you" and I do believe they meant it. Would definitely stay here again

This hotel should provide vending machings and also a better fitness center. The treadmill seemed to have a slipery substance on it and it can be very dangerous.

poor service - posted on 09/06/2006

a very seedy place. the rooms are poorly rehabbed and it's basically and old hotel haphazardly maintained. I asked the manager to take care of problems and she literally laughed at me. NEVER AGIAN! avoid circa 39.

More like 1 star hotel - posted on 09/05/2006

Friendly staff. Poor facilities. There's no major renovation - rooms shabby, elevator belongs in a warehouse. Far from everything. I would never stay here - We walked in, went to our room, immediately left looking for a decent hotel, found one and checked out. Summary: nice staff, terrible facility, bad location

My stay at Circa39 - posted on 09/01/2006

My son and I truly enjoyed our stay at Circa39. The room was small and cozy. The staff were very helpful in giving us information about the sites. It's not close to downtown but it's far enough to to have peace and quiet in your room. I would definitely recommend Circa 39.

When we got there we were unable to find a parking lot for the hotel, come to find out we were to park 1 block away from the hotel and not only that but we have to pay an additional $10 per day for the parking because the hotel doesnt have their own parking lot. The check in was fast. The staff was not friendly at ALL! The room it was not what I expected. The pool was dirty due to the dirt from all the constuction going on next door, it will also awake you at 6:00am due to the noise. If you can pay $10 more stay somewhere else

Not Impressed - posted on 08/24/2006

You can hear people talking, walking, watching TV in the next room. Though the room is very comfy, the noise is really unacceptable. There is a construction site next to them now, so very noisy in the morning. Very close to the beach, only one block away. The pool is very nice and pretty.

Wonderful place! - posted on 08/20/2006

This hotel is great! Our room was clean and nicely decorated, the staff is very helpful and the location is good...there's a bus stop across the street that takes you anywhere..no expensive cabs necessary most of the time. Breakfast service could use some improvement on selection. Recommened to anyone!!!

The staff was WONDERFUL, easy check-in, cozy environment. Room was a smoking room but an upgrade to a king so it was cool. The bed was WONDERFUL and soft! Slept well! lol The bartenders and front desk couldnt get any better. I will return! Thanks South Beach!

Circa39 was great - posted on 07/07/2006

The hotel staff were really nice and customer focused. The location of the hotel was great right across a small street from the ocean.

good experience - posted on 07/04/2006

the hotel was pretty romantic at night with candles all around the lobby. Also there was a nice bar to go to inside, nice pool & free continental breakfast. Service was very good for anything we needed. Bus route is right behind the hotel.

Not What I Expected - posted on 06/11/2006

Circa 39 was an ok hotel. It was close to the beach and the staff was very nice. The location is kind of poor. Everything happens down in South beach on Ocean Drive. That starts on 15th street, Circa 39 is on 39th street. A cab ride cost about $10 each way. Circa also lacks a restaurant. I always ate down in South beach. I would not stay here again. I would stay down on Ocean Drive.

Great hotel, will stay again! - posted on 01/21/2006

This hotel, for relatively cheap price, one block from the beach and cca 5mins from the Art Deco district, was really awesome. Great lobby, awesome crew, beautiful blue&white rooms, unbelievable bed. I will definately stay again.

Disappointment - posted on 01/08/2006

The building has NOT been renovated, but has only received one or two layers of white paint. The rooms and hallways are shabby, carpets are stained and worn out. Bathrooms are more than basic and dirty. We could hear our neighbors as if they were in our room. The location is not good - too far from Art deco diatsict and surrounded by construction sites.

Definately Overpromissing. Small Shower Stalls. Very Comfortable bed linen. Attractive accessories(blue&white). Construction takes away from the potential charm.

Spoiled - posted on 07/15/2005

My two friends and I rented a suite and we loved this place! Granted, it's not your average suite but more like a cozy 1-BR apartment. The decor throughout the hotel and the suite ranged from chic to crisp white & blue. We felt very comfortable. The best part was the service from the hotel staff. They spoiled us! They always had a smile on their faces, were always polite, and always made sure that we were comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Dirty Rooms & Untrustworthy cleaning staff - posted on 03/21/2005

Got a dirty room with a broken toilet. Maintenance could not fix and management refused to give another room. Construction and busy avenue surrounds building. No bureau, full legnth mirror, or locking windows in suites. Not safe environment for kids.

welcome to miami - posted on 03/15/2005

This was our first time in Miami and we wanted to stay in a cute, art deco hotel. Circa 39 was just what we were looking for. The rooms and lobby had great modern decor and a friendly staff there to answer your questions and hail you a cab. There was a 16 dollar per day valet fee, but paying the meter all day was the only other option. The bed was so comfortable and we loved the little Aveda toiletries that were provided each day. The cleaning staff was a bit loud in the mornings and the shower took a while to warm up, but overall we were happy with the hotel and would stay there again.

Very Nice Place - posted on 02/15/2005

This was the first time we have been to South Beach and were not sure what to expect. We arrived to the stunning lobby of this hotel and new we came to the right place. The rooms are somewhat small but very comfortable and clean. Pool area is very nice and it is on the south side of the building so it gets sun all day long. The hotel bar is a fun place where you can relax (say hi to Mike for me). Across the street is the beach and a great Tiki Bar also. Great location and only a $7.00 cab ride to South Beach. My wife and I would definately stay here again.
