The Setai, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, is all about staying in style. This sophisticated, serene and seductive resort hotel reflects the highest standards of design and service. While The Setai was designed to complement the famed South Beach art deco ambiance on the outside, there is no resemblance to it on the inside as it has maintained its origin as the 1930s Dempsey Vanderbilt Hotel. As soon as you enter the lobby, it is immediately apparent that this is a private oasis for the most discerning guests. Asian themes of simplicity and elegance predominate with lots of soft neutrals, teakwood, bronzed columns and soft lighting. Three sparkling heated pools and a private stretch of beach allow guests to enjoy the pleasures of the sun, sea and sand away from hoards of tourists. When you decide to venture beyond this cloistered paradise, The Setai is in the center of South Beach’s hip nightlife and designer boutiques.

Building on the Asian ambiance of the lobby and public areas, The Setai’s 75 guestrooms and 50 suites are havens of peace and pleasure. Standard rooms, located in the original low-rise hotel, average 600 sq ft and are filled with opulent touches like an espresso maker, a flat-screen plasma television and a Bose surround sound CD/DVD system. Aromatherapy candles, fresh flowers, a bowl of shiny apples and decadent chocolates add more pampering touches. Baths are extravagant private enclaves with black granite floors, whirlpool tubs, glass-enclosed rain showers and a selection of luxury bath products. Need more space? One, two, three and four bedroom suites with panoramic views are located in the adjacent 40-story ultra-luxury condo. And, when money is no object, you may want to splurge with a stay in the 10,000 sq ft two-level penthouse with a private rooftop pool.
