About the Betsy Ross Hotel

Most people associate Betsy Ross with Pennsylvania and colonial America. So, most travelers are surprised to find a hotel named The Betsy Ross in trendy, art deco Miami South Beach. But, there it is, tucked away at 1440 Ocean Drive in the heart of the historic Art’s District on Miami’s South Beach. Built in 1940, the hotel has been recently renovated. The first stage is complete and the it’s only a few steps to the white sandy beaches and close to the best dining and nightlife on South Beach.

The Betsy Ross draws mixed reviews. Positives include location and affordable South Beach Rooms. Negatives include: expensive parking, no meeting facilities, smallish rooms and the resort fee. Even though some rooms are small, they are are very clean and a good value for the rate. If kids are in tow, there’s babysitting available for nights on the South Beach strip. Betsy Ross Hotel Accommodations

The Betsy Ross has 57 neo-colonial, but modern rooms, including junior and grand suites. Rooms are light, airy and spacious averaging over 240 sq ft and stylishly equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Look for posh touches like Frette bedding with luxury high-count linens. Although most visitors don’t come to South Beach to watch TV, there are high-definition cable televisions and plenty of personal touches in all guest rooms. (Note: There is a Resort Fee of $12.50 per day including Wireless Free Access, Water in room, Beach Towels, Beach Chairs, Beach Umbrellas, Welcome Snacks, and Room Service.

A morning newspaper waits outside your door filled with the day’s news and local events. It’s only a few steps to the beach or the large European–style resort pool with plenty of lounges and mini cabanas for relaxing poolside. Dining options include an on-site restaurant serving a complimentary Continental Breakfast only and concierge assistance with hard-to-get area restaurant reservations. It’s easy to stay in touch with high speed Internet available throughout the hotel. Internationally recognized designer boutiques, award-winning restaurants and the hottest nightspots are with a few blocks.

Directions from Miami International Airport:
Leaving the Airport, follow signs to 836 East (Beaches). Take 836 East to 395 East (Miami Beach) to A1A East. At the end of the Causeway, A1A becomes 5th Street. Continue East on 5th Street 8 blocks to Ocean Dr. Turn Left (North) on Ocean Dr. The BetsyRoss is on the Left (West) side of the street.
