Great Hotel For Partiers - posted on 04/03/2007
Great hotel for young people looking to experience the amazing beach and nightlife of Miami. The price was amazing considering the bedrooms were clean, the bathrooms marble, a nightly FREE happy hour is included, and the shuttle to/from the airport. The hallways are dingy but bearable when all else is considered. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay at a great location in South Beach

The lighting in the hallway is extremely dark, the maid staff does not understand english. Becareful using your credit card there was a large amount of money taken from my credit card with no explaination just confusion.
Needs Improvement: lighting
I do not recommend this hotel - posted on 08/13/2006
They charge you 5 dollar/night "resort fee" without telling you in advance. No internet availability in the hotel and not even telephones in the room.
Not bad, but needs some touch-ups - posted on 04/24/2006
The great thing about this hotel: Location, location, location. You're literelly a hop, skip, and a jump from the beach. The wiring needs work, we blew the fuses a few times if too many items were turned on & there was a janky outlet. The bathroom was awesome though (room 303). Why live in a room when you're in South Beach anyway.
DO NOT STAY HERE - posted on 03/17/2006
This hotel is the biggest dump-don't stay here! Our bathroom had no electricity for 3 days - we complained 6 times before they switched our room. We discovered cockroaches running across our floor and on the curtains in our room. Our toilet wouldn't flush and they never fixed that. The halls are dark & mildewy. Staff is unbelievably RUDE and act like we were bothering them by complaining. The free shuttle was broken so we had to take $40 cab rides from the airport. Pay a little extra and go to a hotel that deserves your business! This place is disgusting and treats their guests horribly.
Free happy hour - posted on 06/13/2005
Free vodka drinks during happy hour was great for budget minded. great porch for people watching. Rooms are poorly light; a place to sleep, not relax. Close to action; lobby is art deco. Breakfast is across the street--pretty basic--toast, coffee, maybe fruit. English not always spoken well by staff, but they're friendly. It's okay, if you're not fussy about a big room.
Never go there - posted on 03/21/2005
This is not even a hotel. The manager was kind, but everything else was really disappointing. Don't go there, or you will soon find yourself writing a review like this.
LOCATION WAS GREAT - posted on 01/12/2005
I STAYED HERE FOR A LONG WEEKEND. HERE ARE A FEW THINGS YOU SHOULD KEEP IN MIND. THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND ROOMY BUT THE HALLWAYS WERE DIMLY LIT, AND BATHROOMS NEED A BIT OF WORK. CONT BREAKFAST CONSISTS OF TOAST, AND COFFEE (IT WAS NASTY) BUT THE FREE DRINKS FROM 6-9 WERE GOOD. PLEASE NOTE U CAN ONLY PICK FROM A LIMITED MENU OF DRINKS THAT CONTAIN VODKA. SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM AIRPORT TOO WAS GOOD.
pretty good - posted on 12/22/2004
Pretty good hotel for the cheap rates. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the location was great, right in the middle of shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay there again
Loved the Hotel Shelley - posted on 11/15/2004
Best hotel for travelers. We were backpacking through the states and found this hotel by chance. We were so lucky. Since we were on a tight budget, it was perfect. They had lots of free things, like breakfast, and drinks at happy hour. Every time we came back to our room after the beach, our beds were made and our mini bar restocked. We tended to snack from the stocked fridge in the room, which wasn?t the most economical but they had some great things so we indulged a bit. I recommend this hotel to any traveler passing through.
Termites! - posted on 04/29/2004
This hotel was okay until we noticed the abundance of termites in our room...When we tried to tell the staff about it instead of apologizing, they basically tried to say it was our fault-that someone must have left the window open and they flew in. For anyone who doesn't know, termites don't work that way. As further proof that they had a substantial termite problem that evening, as we were leaving the room, my heel went thru the floorboard...This wasn't from anything flying in, and I am sure they must have known that.
