Overpriced - posted on 11/01/2006
This hotel was overpriced for what it was. It was average, but the prices weren't. Also the room description was deceiving. I arranged for "oceanview" which meant if you look through some buildings and trees then you can see a tiny piece of ocean. "oceanfront" is apparently what you had to request. I was not made aware of this when booking. The beds were really comfy. Other then that I would not recommend it. For a basic room, go to a boutique hotel.
Best Hotel In Sobe - posted on 05/26/2005
Very nice spacious rooms. Everything in rooms & public areas were immaculate. Excellent location--we did not have a car but went every place on nearby public transportation. Ride the Electric Wave up to Lincoln Rd. for a quarter & make connections to whereever. I can't say enough good things about the staff, extremely helpful & pleasant. The best I've ever encountered anywhere. Would definitely recommend & hope to stay here again in the future.

This is an upscale Mariott so you always know what you are getting. The service is outstanding, rooms are nice....spacious for Sobe, hip decor, location prime and nice beach.
Will stay here again - posted on 04/08/2005
We stayed here during the Annual Winter Music Festival. The hotel is perfectly situated right on South Beach and is in walking distance from most restaurants and clubs. The hotel is far enough away from the major crowds and noise, however, should you opt for a quiet, peaceful night. The hotel is beautiful both inside and out and the rooms are quite clean and spacious. Staff was very courteous and accomodating. Admittedly, the Marriott South Beach is somewhat pricey, but certainly worth it!
Loved the Marriott! - posted on 04/06/2005
The hotel was an excellent find, right on the beach and very clean and quiet. It's about a 15 minute walk to the center of SoBe action - almost didn't need the car, especially given that parking is such a premium. Excellent staff, very helpful and solicitous. There were umbrellas and chairs for rent on the beach, and waitresses from the hotel brought drinks. Also, no "resort fee"! Would highly recommend to everyone without qualification.
