Better Than Anticipated! - posted on 02/26/2007
We have made several trips to South Beach and were pleasantly surprised with what the Savoy Hotel offered and then delivered as stated! Loved the food & drink service on the beach, chairs and towels and the umbrella provided everyday. Resort fees are common in Florida and the price was far less than 2 chair rentals for the day! We were greeted with smiles whenever we needed service and were very impressed! We're not easy to please and we were both very pleased! We will return to the Savoy Hotel before they become condos.
Super SOBE Savoy - posted on 01/02/2007
From it's location...steps, I mean STEPS away from the beach...to its lush courtyard and comfortable rooms, the Savoy offers everything one could want for a stay in SOBE. The staff was professional, courteous, and helpful. The only negatives: small mistakes with the (limited) room service orders and the moldy shower curtain. Our patio doors didn't open, but the hotel staff offered to move us to an upgraded room in compensation. We travel to SOBE a few times a year and will definitely be returning to the Savoy!

good hotel, hidden fee - posted on 10/25/2006
The Savoy is a good hotel. You get a lot of room for your $$ and everyone was friendly. My only complaint would be the resort fee -- you pay $13 a day for the priviledge of having them provide you with a towel. I think that's a rip-off, personally
Comfortable joy! - posted on 09/25/2006
A small hotel, right on the beach. It felt very private and comfortable. We loved walking a very short distance to the beach, with someone right there to get us all set up with what we wanted! Loved it!

I can't see what all the complaints are this hotel. It's a wonderful hotel. There are some things (like furniture) that may need a little cleaning, otherwise the staff is very friendly they dont harass you truly feel as though you are at home. We will definitely stay there again.
Not Bad, but not great, either - posted on 06/05/2006
We liked the location, next to the Art deco district and right on the beach. The room needed some TLC, ie, doors squeeked, kitchen table was a wreck. No view from our window unless you count a parking garage. Valet parking was $25 a day plus another $13 for two towells, two chairs and an umbrella for the beach. Good pool service, verrrrry slow dinning service. Allow an hour for breakfast. Nice pools and sun deck. Very soft bed. the hotel wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It helps if you speak Spanish:-). Helen from Austrialia was very nice,as was Nestor from Peru.
