Customer Reviews for Fontainebleau Resort Miami Beach

From Washington, DC - posted on 04/24/2006

If you like vacationing in middle of a construction zone, this hotel is for you, construction equipment everywhere. The staff doesn't care and is extremely unfriendly. We travel frequently and will make sure to let everyone know not to waste their time staying at this property.

EXTREMELY disappointing - posted on 04/03/2006

Room had mold growing on carpet, they left our room door propped open with my suitcase, a guys swim trunks were in the room, and there was absolutely no followup from hotel. Rude front desk staff on check out. More like a 2 star location.

loved it - posted on 04/02/2006

overal this place was great. somehow they canled one of our room reservaions but took only 15 minutes to fix the problem. staff was very friendly and curtious. the construction wasn't a problem or loud as some have said. the only complaint i have is with the housekeeping. they ask you to leave your room so they can clean it. come back like 2 hours later and the place hasn't been touched. like i said great place to stay. would definilty stay agian.

serious problems - posted on 03/30/2006

We received an occupied room!!! 45 minute wait for ice after 3 calls. Outdoor Coconut Willies--bad food, overpriced drinks with mandatory 17% tip, though bartenders won't tell you that when you tip them. No restaurant in hotel. Single outdoor bathroom out of toilet paper by noon. Deafening construction noise on property

Welcome Surprise - posted on 03/30/2006

The fontainebleau tower was an excellent hotel. We had 2 studio suites and couldn't of been happier. The staff was very helpful and surprisingly pleasant to talk to. In fact I was very surprised at how nice everyone was especially it being Miami (rudeness is a way of life here usually). I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay. Probably give it a 5 when the construction is completed.

Above average - posted on 02/20/2006

The hotel was a good location for business. Though revolved around the clientel of tourism and upper levels. The valet service was fast, though you could not call ahead, so there is a delay of waiting which is not necessary. The rooms were fine. A very nice establishment overall, though the rooms were nothing spectacular. Pricing was typical Miami, overpriced.

Not worth the price I paid - posted on 01/26/2006

Management mess! Very upset when we checked in. Did not get room that we paid for. Did not get corrected until next day. Management seemed confused-need to improve service here. Rooms did not get cleaned sometimes until 6:00 p.m. Rooms were also old and outdated. The pools and beach area were great, wonderful staff working there. Too bad they couldn't keep up with all of the messes that some of the inconsiderate hotel guests left! Probably would not stay here again.

Not real impressed - posted on 01/24/2006

Valet parking was expensive & wouldn't let you call in advance to have your car ready. Buffet was good but pricy & servers expect 18 % tip when they just filled your water. $8.00 drinks at pool bar (plus the mandatory tip). When did tips become mandatory? thought it was for exceptional service above what they were getting paid for. Spa was not really a spa. Took you to the towers to a room for the massage. Didn't feel real comfortable walking into a hotel room with man I didn't know. Front desk personnel were NOT nice or friendly (but hey I didn't have to tip them.

Worst Service in the world - posted on 12/29/2005

I have traveled around the world and have never seen a hotel more poorly managed. The service was terrible, and the manager did not care. Don't recommend anyone stay at any price.

the lobby looks nice, great pool area for the kids and adults. The cleanliness of the room was no better than any cheap hotel, the shower in the room needed a very good cleaning and the carpet as well. customer service is really poor. i will not stay again.

GREAT POOL - posted on 09/20/2005

The pool is incredible!! Great place to bring children of all ages!! We took a 3 year old. We will be back next year!! The childrens pool is amazing. There are a lot of conventions going on, all the time!! The pool gets busy early in the morning. Reserve your chairs early!!!

Pro's & Con's - posted on 08/05/2005

Pros: Best pool on strip; clean beach; Inviting grounds/atmosphere; bus stop right in front of hotel. Cons: Poor Customer Service; Dbl beds s/b Queen; Elevators needed servicing for the first 24 hrs of stay; Each day had to call for towels to accomodate # of guest in room; not enough pool chairs. Would strongly suggest customer service training for all employees; mystery shops to weed out those that don't apply skills.

Loved It Just As Much the Second Time - posted on 05/04/2005

1st visit - April 99. 2nd visit - April 05. Both visits were just after a renovation, luckily. Loved all the staff EXCEPT the front desk. NO personality. Service and food were great. Place is beautiful. Location is awesome! Just a note ? they charge for beach chairs and umbrellas, so beware! But if you don?t want to look like a lobster, spring for the umbrella! Look at it this way, 5 hours on the beach at $10/umbrella is only $2/hr! Towels are free. I will stay here again and again?

Nice Hotel - posted on 12/11/2004

A nice hotel overall. Best feature was pool area and being right on the beach. Room cost was a bit pricy but my employer was paying the bill. Very nice setup for conference rooms and great pool and beach area. Beutiful boardwalk at back of hotel lets you walk up and down beach to other hotels. Noticed that food too pricey and they automatically add a service charge to each bill.
