The huge cost for this hotel is completely relative to the convenience to Disney. You don't need to drive anywhere and can ride the monorail to Disney within 10 minutes. Service is very good. Rooms, grounds and restaurants are mediocre at best. If you want superior quality rooms/grounds/restaurants, stay elsewhere. If you want convenience and to watch fire works from your patio, stay here.
Traveled with 2yr old and baby - posted on 03/14/2007
We traveled with our 2 yr old and 9 month old baby. Proximity to Magic Kingdom and ease of pushing strollers directly on to monorail made for a great vacation. We stayed in Rarotonga and found it very convenient to get to restaurants and monorail station. We loved the beautiful hotel grounds and pool as well. We watched fireworks from the beach at hotel as it was too late for our little ones to stay in park.

Very nice. Perhaps, better for families. Rather noisy due to children.

I loved it. From the fountain in the lobby to eating at Ohana's, it was probably my favorite hotel experience to date. I would highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a little bit of paradise at Disney World.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY - posted on 08/16/2006
WE STAYED A WEEK HERE AND IT WAS GREAT, MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE ROOM CONDITION, THE 1ST ROOM WE GOT HAD RIPS IN THE SHEETS, THE TOLIET WAS BROKEN AND THE TUB HAD MOLD IN IT,WHEN WE TOLD THE FRONT DESK AND THEY WERE NICE ABOUT IT AND MOVED US TO ANOTHER ROOM WHICH HAD A MUCH BETTER VIEW OF THE MONORAIL, DINNER AT O'HANNAS IS WONDERFUL!!! ME AND MY FIANCE TRY TO GO THERE EVERY COUPLE MONTHS BECAUSE WE LIVE IN DAYTONA BEACH. YOU HAVE TO EAT THERE , YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!

The Poly is awesome. I would never stay anywhere else at Disney. It was so easy to hop on the monorail. We loved it!!!

We've stayed at the Polynesian 8 times and will return in Aug 06. Rooms have been redone, can't wait to see. Great location to the monorail-we stay near the Ticket and Transportation Center so we can get to Epcot and the MK easily.

the rooms are great the sliding door is a little hard to open. The rooms are spacious and the atomsphere is wonderful, I like it so much I could live there.. For an extra treat stay at the conceriege.. snacks and free drinks...

we were very happy with our stay. Our room was large and we were told they would be small by other people. I loved it! We spent husbands 50th birthday there and all was wonderful except we had too short a visit
Needs Refurbishing - posted on 02/16/2006
Dated, old and smelly. Disney needs to get out of the hotel business. The room was a dump and the TV the size of a postage stamp. The ONLY thing decent about this hotel is it's location to the Magic Kingdom. This hotel has sadly lost its magic entirely.
Not great value - posted on 01/20/2006
There was refurbishment going on at the hotel which was not flagged up at the time of booking. The restaurant rating is so low because we were not able to dine in the hotel - there was no availability. There should be a special arrangement for people actually staying at the hotel. Breakfast was good but the same every day - best to take breakfast in the coffee shop. This hotel cost a LOT of money and it simply was not worth it.

Like being in paradise. Relaxing pool bar was nice to have a drink and watch the kids. FRIENDLY staff! Clean and beautiful. Expected it to be dated, but it was far from it. Music throughout grounds sets the mood. See the show! Made me want to lose weight and buy a grass skirt!
A Tradeoff - posted on 08/25/2005
My rating is based on value. We have stayed here 3 times over 10 years. Great location, grounds, lobby, and beds. Nice pools, restaurants, service. Rooms are large and clean, though the upcoming redecoration is needed. Baths are small and not of the caliber expected for the money. You are paying for location and monorail with beautiful grounds. Decide if that tradeoff is worth it to you. The more the price increases, so will my temptation to stay elsewhere.
Perfect Honeymoon - posted on 08/22/2005
My husband stayed here on our honeymoon in August of 2005 and it was a perfect honeymoon. The hotels setting makes you feel like you're in a tropical paradise. The rooms were spotless and the cast members were very friendly and helpful. I will be back!
Great Week !! - posted on 07/05/2005
Reading the reviews of this hotel, I expected the rooms to be run down and small, but I found the rooms well decorated, clean and good size. The hotel grounds are beautiful with great pools and dining. The location cannot be beat. Overall a great experience !!
Best Resort in Disney - posted on 06/29/2005
We loved the resort because of the proximity of the monorail and our room had a spectacular view. The front desk is wonderful and all of the cast members are willing to help any way they can. We have stayed here before and we plan to go back

Never again - posted on 04/15/2005
It's beyond me how anyone can charge $520/night and yet not be able to provide a breakfast or dinner reservation. The hotel was also being refurbished but there was no prior warning of this. Even the Ritz-Carlton was better value. Never again.
magical place to stay - posted on 03/07/2005
my wife and I got married here 5/28/04, and stayed for a few more days, along with our families. I'm not even sure what it is about the place, but it is magical and brings me back time and again. Even the smell when you first walk in the door to the Great Ceremonial House brings back great memories and promises more on the way. O'hana's is great too!
