Not bad, typically Disney - posted on 01/16/2007

Comfortable for our purpose, as a couple that wanted a place to get to/from Epcot without the hassle of parking and traffic. Connections were generally good; room was comfortable. The rest was Disney experience for the youngsters.

We love CBR!!! - posted on 10/19/2005

Our family has stayed at CBR three times over past 6 years. Beautiful tropical theme; spread out; feels exclusive; very peaceful. Food court bustles; great for breakfast and snacks; eat in parks or other resorts for main meal for adventure. Rooms: always clean; plenty of room...plus how much time do you spend there at Disney?? Only problem: slow bus service; we had to wait 45 minutes one morning for a bus to Magic Kingdom. Book a room close to a bus stop and not too much of a walk to Old Port Royale, (food court/main pool area). Try Jamaica building.

A Vacation Within A Vacation - posted on 08/02/2005

Being our stay at a Disney World Resort, we were not too sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. Our room was a bit of a walk from the main building. But, coming back from breakfast one morning a staff member was driving by in a cart and offered to give us a ride to our building. The bus service was convenient. However, expect to wait in a long line in the evening when the parks close and everyone is heading back to their rooms. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel and plan on going back. It truly felt like a vacation within a vacation.

Look Forward To This Place Each Year! - posted on 07/28/2005

When the winter doldrums from the Northeast are getting to you. There is no place like the tropical setting this resort provides. Nice and spread out so you don't feel crowded. Quiet pools as well as the main pools are nice to enjoy. I've been 3 years in a row and have never had a single complaint. Can't wait for 2006!!

Beautiful~I could live there! - posted on 03/01/2007

I don't have a complaint worth mentioning other than I forgot to specify a non-smoking room and our room reeked from smoke coming under the adjoining door. So remember to request a non-smoking room if you want one. My kids loved the pool so much they didn't want to go to the park! The grounds were quiet, peaceful and lovely. Check-in was quick and easy. Food court breakfast was crowded but lines go quickly. Request a room close to Port Royale and a bus stop (saves time). Room interiors are getting older-could use updating.

GREAT GETAWAY!! - posted on 04/12/2007

Me and the rest of my family went to this resort and it was great! Our rooms were clean, and check- in took less than 10 minutes! I would reccomend this resort to anyone who likes their stay to be.... well awesome. The only downside is the food, its not the greatest, try Mcdonalds in downtown disney instead! Also very close to Epcot.

went to the sit down rest araunt to inquire about dinner it was 4:30pm the hsotess was very rude stating if i did't have a priority seating there was no chance I noted that there was only 2 families in the dining room . The hostess just turned her back on me never offered me any suggestions or another night for dining. I found this was the only rude person I had ever encoutered at Disney.

We stayed here for three nights and would definitely come back. We had a corner room with two beds; there is a curtain separating sleeping and bathing area - nice for dressing. Rooms were clean and non-smoking (even though neighboring guest smoked). Each complex has its own pool that is easily accessible; also close to Disney parks. Very nice!

We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort Feb. 2007. We are returning guests to this hotel but we will never return again! We stayed here 12 years ago, and everything was the same, but older, including dirty carpet, dirty walls, hair and dirt in the bathroom, and the room smelled like dirty feet. The T.V. had lines through it, and the beds were full sized with old spring matresses, so every time you moved, your partner would feel or hear it!!! 12 yrs ago it was nice and clean, time really took a toll on this place and it is in desparate need of a face lift!!!

My children and I have been here twice over the New Years holiday. Nice place to stay for a winter holiday. First, my children love the place. For myself, the service I thought was really acceptable. The staff in the Food Court needs some assistance. You can find yourself waiting for your food sometimes. Be preparred to do some walking, you sure get your exercise. The grounds are great and well kept. The staff was extremely friendly, and helpful. Nice, clean rooms. Would definately return.

This was the worst,I've NEVER seen anything this bad. When the celing fan was on it blew dust like cobwebs around the room. I felt dirty after my shower, sleeping in this bed turned my stomach, wondering if the sheets had even been changed before our arrival. There was long dark hair all over the room, not ours (my fiance has short dark hair and I''m blonde) I couldn't EVER recomend this resort.

The overall grounds are very well maintained and the atmosphere is very nice. You do get a sense of being in the Caribbean. Overall this is a wonderful quality for what you pay for and we look forward to visiting again really soon!

Carribean Beach Resort - posted on 09/27/2006

The rooms were nice, but a bit small. Although I paid extra for a "water view" room, my wife and I had a partial (side) view of the pool / lake. The food selections are limited, overpriced, and the worst of the four other Disney hotels we have previously stayed in. Avoid the main food court as the food is BAD and eat elsewhere. Be prepared to walk considerable distances as the Carribean Beach Resort is quite large.

My daughter and I just got back from our "girls" vaca (she's 4). We loved the resort. You can't beat the Magical Express service and shuttle to the parks and Downtown Disney. Not having to rent a car and worry about how to get places and parking....it's great! We had no problems with the transportation. Food was good - not as pricey as I expected. pool was fantastic. We stayed in Barbados. It was very beautiful, quiet. Can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The "water" in our first water view room was blocked by bushes, but the staff quickly moved us when I asked. Bathrooms need to be updated (flooring and bathtub) and would like to have been able to order in room movies.

Good, not great - posted on 07/28/2006

The price was right, and the room was extremely clean (but a little dated in appearance). Some of the "fast food" services are useless, but most are adequate (the cheap salmon was oddly good). My only real complaint (a big one) is that the buses, which are spotless, take way too long to shuttle you to the parks. Combining wait/ride, it might take 30-45 minutes to get to or from the Magic Kingdom gates. In my experience, it's worth paying extra to stay somewhere closer (e.g. Contemporary).

Truly Paradise - posted on 07/11/2006

We just got back from our trip to Walt Disney World and I can't say enough about it. The Caribbean Beach Resort is absolutely beautiful. It's very tranquil, quiet and we felt like we were truly in paradise. The staff at the resort were wonderful. The rooms were clean and the maid service was great. The room had coffee pot (yeah), hairdryer, mini fridge. The Disney Express was great as well as the shuttle service to all amusement parks and water parks. Never waited more than 10 minutes for the shuttles. Don't hesitate to book your next vacation at this great resort!

Carribean Beautiful Landscape - posted on 06/14/2006

The Landscaping was beautiful. My room was close to the bus services which was critical. My child enjoyed the pool, the cabana bar was the BEST part of the grounds. The beaches are ok but can't swin in the lakes... but the pool was a very nice alternative. Port Royale could use some updating and the hotel room itself needs renovation- walls not the cleanest, bathrooms very small - Housekeeping was Fair but did little things to make the experience nice.

This hotel was better than I expected. It was very clean, staff was friendly and funny. A great Disney experience. If you are going will a group, make sure you call ahead of time and request the same building, as the hotel is very spread out and you could be spending a lot of time taking the bus to get to the next pod. Food court had good food and was reasonably priced. Note that there are no tiki bars at the pod pools, you have to go to the main pool, so buy your own before you go!

Low Maintenance Relaxation - posted on 05/25/2006

It was a nice and relaxing setting with individual pools and beaches. If you are traveling with small children, make sure you request an "island" close to the main pool where the food court is located. Our room was very far from the main pool and it took a long time to get there with a three year old and a nine month old and it was very inconvenient to run back to the room if we forgot something. Besides that, everything was good. Everything was basic and low maintenance, so if you want someone to wait on you hand and foot during your vacation, go somewhere else.

Great place to escape! - posted on 05/22/2006

The hotel was awesome! The "island" feel was very nice, and the rooms were clean and well kept. The buses ran all the time, and we didn't move our car until it was time to leave. Our 3yr old loved the whole experience, especially the pools. Each housing group had its own pool, and a huge themed pool in the middle. The staff was very helpful and so nice. Great hotel!

This was perfect for our family of three. The individual pool was really nice, and it wasn't too far to walk to the mail pool, which was small and too crowded. Rooms had tons of storage spaces. We never ate here as we had a car. We also had a corner room, which I would suggest because of more windows. I would definitely come back.

We stayed here for 3 nights - there are two double beds with tons of space for storage (suitcases, etc.) Close to Disney attractions as well as I-4 for off-site dining if you have a car. The individual pools are best - the main pool is crowded and not that spectacular. We stayed in Barbados and was closest to check-in. It's a big complex, but not as big as I imagined from other reviews. Loved it!

My family stayed at this hotel last year. Check in was horrible. We had travelled 8 hours to get to the resort only to find our room was not ready. Our travel dates coincided with a cheerleading competition so there was a lot of youthful energy around. My wife and I had two kids under 3 and our room felt a little cramped for space but it was clean and comfortable. At Disney World, often times your hotel room is just for sleeping anyway. All the cast members we asked for help from were extremely courteous and responsive, except at the food court where service was very slow.

Pretty walk to the clubhouse - walking is a part of Disney! Love the bus service. It was quiet at the motel. Our room was also pretty. No complaints at all! Food was ok. There were sandwhiches, fruits and the usual fast food. Nice omlets & waffles for bkfst. Not home cooked but good enough - we ate great character meals 1X day so these meals just tied us over. We thought the staff was very nice too!

Disappointed - posted on 01/21/2006

I thought the checking in procedure tedious. The rooms were very disappointing for the price. The cost of food was astronomical and the restaurants were dark, dingy and much too far away.It appeared to be impossible to just buy a normal breakfast without having to visit several outlets. The themed pool was not open early enough to use before going out for the day.Having to hire bikes and boats seemed very petty and extremely expensive. Transport coming back from the parks was horrendous. After being on your feet all day the last thing you want is a massive queue and very slow return to your room.

This was our second stay. The first was Sept 2003. We stayed in Martinique both times. Themed pool has too much chlorine, can be busy. The village pools are private and relaxed. Food court had great variety. We loved breakfast and the refillable mugs. I am planning another trip June 2006. The walking is not bad, beaches and hammocks are fun. Buses are free and they drop/pick up at each village.

Not quite up to Disney standards - posted on 12/14/2005

The restaurant/shop area was nice, food was good, the pools were nice and fun for both kids and adults, landscaping was nice (tropical plants everywhere, etc.), but the rooms were not up to Disney standards. Slight musty smell, furnishings/carpet looked worn/old. Also could have used a new window A/C unit. The room still had the Disney decoration flavor to it, but seemed like it really needed updating/refurbishing, and it was pretty disappointing for the price!! I stayed in the Disney Swan/Dolphin a few years ago, and the room there was MUCH nicer than Caribbean Beach. Very different.

Resort is too spread out to see whole place in short trip. Don't waste money if weather is questionable. long way to run in rain between bldgs. Couldn't use pool or outdoor stuff. Stayed at Epcot and MGM alot; best for indoor time/theatre/exhibits or inside downtown stores for refuge.

Cafeteria style dining was disappointing. Dining is set up in a large hall separated into several stations displaying unappetizing looking pictures over each station offering a selected type entre, deli; grill; pasta/pizza; macaroni and cheese etc. After waiting in line at the serving station you then enter centralized line to pay. The food served looked like the pictures. After a long day at the park we settled for a grilled chicken sandwich & fries. The rest of our stay we dined elsewhere.

I recommend you put some vending machines close to the rooms farthest from the dining area for more convenience.
