Best Vacation Ever - posted on 04/05/2007

Quite simply, this was the best vacation we've ever had. The Grand Floridian was extremely opulent and comfortable, and it even smelled great. The staff was first rate. The afternoon tea at the Garden View Lounge was tasty and elegant. The lobby was awe-inspiring. Room service was friendly and efficient. The pools and the poolside service were thoroughly enjoyable. Finally, the monorail and other transportation provided was so effeicient that we did not need a car. Everything was well worth the expense. were

Disney flagship hotel - posted on 01/13/2007

Is our 4th time in the Grand Floridian. We really like it, but we were very sorry to see during this trip, the lack of maintenance of the buildings specially the hallways, never vacumm during a week(Boca Chica). The room was comfortable and clean.

I got engaged at the Grand Floridian over this past holiday season it was perfect. People come to the resort just to see the holiday decorations. You get what you pay for on this one... Perfection!!!

Grand hotel with poor service - posted on 12/23/2006

We stayed at the what we thought was the top tier Disney hotel. Upon check in - the welcome basket we asked for wasn't delivered, our safe and hair dryer was not working. It took 2 or more requests to get the replacement items. NEVER use the dinning package - the server and cashier do not always take the dinning package card even though they are on the list for accepting the dinning package card. There were charges on the bill that were incorrect. Finally, for a simple question you got different answers from every employee.

Terrible View - posted on 11/13/2006

To repeat what was stated by another guest, verify your view! We had reserved a king bed room, and received a double queen, we had also requested a lagoon view, and got a room with a giant tree in front of it! We were on the fifth floor for what should have been a great view, but all we could see was the tree! The front desk didn't seem to care that we didn't get the room we had asked for, or go out of their way to find a resolution. In my opinion, the Beach or Yacht Club are better hotels for less $$.

Best Stay - posted on 10/09/2006

I have stayed at many Disney Resorts and i loved the Grand. It had such a Cinderella Feel to it, and was very magical. And you could watch the fireworks from the hotel

A Great Stay! - posted on 06/30/2006

We had a great room overlooking Cinderella's Castle. This was requested after reading reviews here. At first, we had a lagoon room but we couldn't see the castle. I called the front desk and explained that this had been promised when I made reservations. They changed our rooms right away, which was great! The rooms were clean and the maids always arranged our son's stuffed animals in cute positions on the bed. We LOVED watching the fireworks from our room's balcony and seeing the water parade each night. It is definitely worth the extra $ to get these extras!

Another good time - posted on 03/18/2006

This was our third stay at the GF. It's the best Disney has to offer. Access to the monorail is wonderful. Check-in and check-out can be trying. I would recommend that you do not use their cards - pay cash for everything. Many people checking out were questioning items that had been billed to their room, causing long delays in the check-out lines. Valet parking attendants can be unpleasant. Watching the fireworks from our balcony over Cinderella's castle was amazing. Well-kept grounds and facilities.

Best Disney Hotel - posted on 11/04/2005

The Grand Floridian is the best hotel on the DIsney Property. I like how it is in the center of everything including the Magic Kingdom and much more. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful Disney architecture and entertainment that you would expect from Disney.

Convenient and Elegant: hard 2 find in a hotel! - posted on 07/26/2005

The Grand Floridian is splendid! The shops are spectacular! Having the monorail so close by was like being a VIP. The employees are the best. This hotel is Disney showingoff what attention to detail they do. The rooms are Alice in Wonderlandtheme & I enjoyed the Garden Tea lounge w/ my mom while listening to the orchestra earby play nostalgic Disney songs. I?d see the Castle from the beach! I loved the snacks and the beachhouse near big pine key. I?d go to the parks and we took the monorail. Try going on it at night the view is great.

stay elsewhere - posted on 06/23/2005

have stayed at all of the deluxe hotels, and this is the only one i won't return to. check in was a nightmare, and staff downright rude. concierge service not worth the price. visit the lobby and the grounds, but stay elsewhere.

Our First Trip - posted on 04/11/2005

This was the first trip to Disney for my children and me. I spent a little more and booked at the GF. It was worth every penny! The rooms were lovely, with the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in in a hotel. I loved coming back at night and the beds being turned down. The kids loved the chocolates. Everyone was so helpful and kind. We could see the firworks from our balcony. One night we put down a blanket and watched the fireworks sitting next to the lake. Spectacular! Spend extra and get a lagoon view, truly worth the money for what I believe was a magical trip.

The Ultimate Disney Experience - posted on 03/30/2005

I stayed at Disney's Grand Floridian with an old friend, and we were extremely impressed! I have stayed at every Disney World hotel, and the Grand Floridian definitely ranks #1. We were treated like true royalty from the moment we got there to the moment we left. The beds in our room were incredibly comfortable, and all the rooms in the Grand Floridian provide much more space than other Disney properties. If you can afford the somewhat-less-than-cheap prices, I would give it my highest recommendation.
