Everything costs too much - posted on 05/12/2007
Thought we were getting a good deal because of discounts, but they nickle and dime you for EVERYTHING. $3.50 for a bottle of water; $9 + tax each time you left the parking lot and came back; overpriced food; $8 to use the gym. These are just a few examples. Would never stay here again because there are nicer properties with free parking, breakfast included, etc. Our room was nice, didn't smell, comfy bed.
Generally Nice - posted on 04/22/2007
Room was spotless, didn't have any odor that I could tell. Rooms quite small, and carpets were a bit worn. Never had to wait more than 30 seconds for an elevator, best I've ever seen. Quiet at night, and great pool area for the kids. Asked Bell staff for a taxi twice, got a limo twice instead, at 2 or 3 times the price, a rip-off
Enjoyed our stay - posted on 04/19/2007
The Swan is definitely a good place to stay for several reasons: easy/pleasant transportation to Epcot/MGM, clean & comfortable beds, beachy area w/pool, close to boardwalk, close to Dolphin (which has lots of restaurants/great milkshakes), putt-putt course nearby, and discounts that are sometimes available (i.e. AAA/medical prof). Disadv: Sometimes too crowded, and we couldn't count on concierge--told us things were sold out when they were not! Dining is a little pricey overall. Longer stays--you'll have to request linen change.
awful experience - posted on 04/02/2007
This is not a vacation hotel. It is overpriced and should not be associated with Disney. The atmosphere is too rigid. This hotel looks great from the outside but looks like a dump on the inside. The exhaust fan didn't work in one of my rooms the artwork is atrocious in the rooms.
Pretty Good - posted on 03/07/2007
The hotel is well located. Easy access to Epcot. Service & room condition was average. The overall experience was enjoyable, especially for our 2 children.
Great Time at The Walt Disney Swan - posted on 03/06/2007
We had a wonderful stay at the Swan. We were given a lovely room with balcony. The combined grounds (with Dolphin) are beautifully maintained and landscaped. The location was perfect for access to Epcot, MGM and the Boardwalk. My husband enjoyed the reasonably priced breakfast buffet. It was fun watching the Disney characters at breakfast and the adult reactions to them. The staff was excellent and unobtrusive. Lots of shade, sun and towels around the pool areas. What a beautiful resort! We would go back to the Swan any time!
Not the Happiest Birthday - posted on 02/13/2007
We stayed at this hotel thinking that it would have been much nicer for the price we paid. The rooms were no better than a 2 star hotel. My five year old was told she would be receiving a special gift, since we were here celebrating her birthday. This never happened, and ulitimately she was upset. The room smelled of must and mildew so we were forced to only go back to it when we were exhausted and needed to go to bed. We will never waste our money here again. I've stayed at far nicer hotels for less.
Overall....great hotel! - posted on 01/18/2007
Visited with my husband for convention. Its very crowded but the location is great! Food is expensive as well. But the hotel is awesome, the beds are heaven and the pool area is great. I liked it so much we are going back again this year! The room we had was perfect, no smell and good view, and we didn't even ask for one! Even though "Disney" is not in your face 24/7, it was nice to get away for the night and relax.
Wonderful - posted on 01/18/2007
Rooms have been recently updated and are great. Newly updated lobby and common areas. GREAT room service. Everyone at this hotel is very nice and accommodating. Have stayed here several times and not been disappointed. Very close to Epcot/MGM/Boardwalk.
Not worth the money, not that convenient - posted on 11/28/2006
The hotel is ok- but the only reason you would pay so much to stay here is because it's supposed to be so esy to get to the parks, right? NO!!! The boats and buses to Disney Parks were awful!!! We waited at Disney MGM for over an hour for a boat back to the hotel. Boat is the only way to get to or from MGM- and the buses stop at 3 or 4 hotels each time; each trip took 20-40 minutes. We spent more time geting to and from parks than if we had stayed off Disney and drove ourselves to each park!!!

This is a great hotel with an excellent location. I Highly recommend it.
More than expected - posted on 10/21/2006
Could not have asked for more. From room upgrade to the way they treated the children. Was the first time I travelled alone with my kids. Security was great. The rooms were clean and spacious. The kids loved the pools and the restaurants. Transportation was top notch. Have already re-booked for spring break!!! cannot wait.
Overpriced Stinkhole - posted on 10/14/2006
Walt would turn in his grave to see what has been done to his Kingdom. Overpriced, Nasty Smelling, Poor Service and almost rude behaviour of the staff. Very disappointed - stay off-site and don't be scared about the low prices it is a competitive market.
not up to westin standards - posted on 09/01/2006
the rooms just smell bad and are not maintained well. the epcot location is just unbeatable though. you can walk to epcot and mgm, the boardwalk area, etc. a real time saver. luckily we didn't spend too much time in the room and actually dreaded going back there because of the smell! we have stayed at most of the disney hotels and the swan does have great specials from time to time. you really have to balance what you need.
Not what I expected. - posted on 08/05/2006
Charge for parking is absurd; the rooms had a musty smell (probably due to no exhaust in bathroom) not enough drawer space; dining was expensive ($16.95 for an egg breakfast) w/room service adding on extra fees. Staff was friendly but could not get our reservation right; Had dirty sheets and no comforter for 2 nights. The Swan also seems to be a convention center for there were business suits all over, Not what I want to see on vacation. HOWEVER, it is a GREAT location and the outside was remarkable. Had activities for all. Just too expensive for what you get.

Swan Visit - posted on 07/06/2006
Nice place. Folks were friendly and helpful but A/C does not perform as engineered. It does not keep correct temp. when there is no movement like when you are sleeping. Room gets very humid and warm. Self Daily Parking fee of $8 / $14 Valet is uncalled for.
Great Hotel - posted on 06/02/2006
The Swan is beautiful and the service is top notch. We loved the food and the rooms were very nice, quiet and comfortable. Lots of the facilities however were in the Dolphin, a short walk, but a pain late at night. I would stay here again in a minute.
Walk to Epcot - posted on 05/29/2006
Nice rooms, can see fireworks from two parks from top floor rooms. A pleasant walk (about 1 mile) from Epcot back to the hotel (saves waiting for the boat). Most other guest were business travelers, so not a lot of kids running up and down the halls.
Total disappointment - posted on 05/25/2006
I was disappointed with the room facilities. Rooms look like a cheap motel facility: small, lousy furniture, unattractive, dirty bath tubs(scum at bottom, not approriate cleaning agents used.) Only good things: location and bed.
NOT A TRUE WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT - posted on 05/24/2006
THIS HOTEL IS NOT OWNED BY DISNEY ONLY AFFILIATED WITH, THEREFORE YOU DO NOT GET ALL THE PERKS. YOU CANNOT CHARGE FOOD OR MERCHANDISE AT ANY OF THE PARKS TO YOUR ROOM AND CANNOT HAVE ITEMS DELIVERED TO YOUR ROOM, BOTH VERY CONVENIENT BENEFITS OF STAYING IN A DISNEY RESORT. THERE IS BUS AND BOAT TRANSPORT TO ALL PARKS, BUT THE CONCIERGE KNOWS LITTLE OF THE CURRENT EVENTS AND TIMES THE ATTRACTIONS ARE OPEN. WE WERE MISINFORMED ON MANY OCCASIONS AND DISSAPOINTED. GREAT FOR BUSINESS CONVENTIONS AND THAT IS ABOUT IT. ONE MORE THING, POWDERED EGGS FOR BREAKFAST WHEN PAYING 17.95 IS RIDICULOUS
Great choice! - posted on 05/24/2006
Great location practically on the boardwalk. Fantastic amount of restaurants, for buffet breakfast, to table service, to al fresco dining. The only drawback is no disney transpotation from airport. This is owned by Hilton, and as such, I feel, is better bang for the buck. Good size rooms, nice bathrooms , and a 24hr convience store/cafe. Great pool area,3 pools, slides, kidde pool(ok) nice lounges, w/bar, excll fitness area, w/clean shw and bath area to refreshen before flight. Geared toward conventions, but very welcoming for families. comfortable beds.

I read some negative reviews before I selected this hotel, which made me a bit apprehensive. After staying, all I can say is AWESOME. This was the best hotel I ever stay in - EVER. Don't let the negative complainers convince you to look elsewhere. I'm going to go back next year to this hotel. No need to look elsewhere!

Not much for the money - posted on 02/23/2006
$8 a day for parking is not right when you are paying over $200 a night for a room. No vending machines for a snack or soda. Close to the "Boardwalk" which was nice.
Poor experience... - posted on 01/20/2006
We thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese restaurant at the hotel and the service provided by the bellman was top notch. However, the only time we had to use the awesome pools, we were kicked out 15 minutes later for a PRIVATE "Coors" party. This EXTREMELY irritated us and our 2 children who had waited with great anticipation to be able to play in the pools for half of the day.
Comfortable luxury near Disney - posted on 12/29/2005
The Swan property is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are comfortable and feature beds specially designed for the hotel which are very soft and stylish. There are many pools, restaurants, and activities, as well as health club facilities and massage. The location and transportation to Disneyworld and Epcot are exceptional and special added hours are available to hotel guests at the Disney parks, which cuts down significantly on the crowds. Parking should be free for hotel guests, not the $8 per day that is charged. Everything else was nice.
Great Hotel - posted on 12/27/2005
A beautiful hotel with excellent amenities, nice views, great restaurants and service, all in one of the best locations at Disney. Have stayed there many times and would recommend it to family and business travelers alike. The new parking fee was an unfavorable surprise, but the added security is a benefit.
Great Location - posted on 12/27/2005
The location of the Disney Swan is great for travellers wanting quick access to Epcot and MGM. It was also a few minute walk to the boardwalk which featured stores, restaurants, and activities.
Christmas break - posted on 12/26/2005
Stayed here just one night,Christmas Eve, to treat my mother for Christmas. Enjoyed Bluezoo in Dolphin. Had breakfast downstairs, and to our surprise "characters" were walking around. Would have been great at no extra charge for children. The location was great as we could walk to Boardwalk, etc. The only negative was all the cleaning carts in the hallways. Do they need 4 in a short hallway space? I'd stay there again for the price.
Great Hotel - posted on 12/18/2005
Nice place to stay. Great beds, walking distance to Epcot and Boardwalk.
Not a luxury Hotel - posted on 12/16/2005
We have stayed at manyDisney Hotels. This one should not be listed as a premium resort. It is a shame most people think it will be up to Disney's standards. Take a close look at your bill, we paid through AOL travel, and then received a bill for our room. It took over 45 min. to resolve. If you are planning a Disney vacation, stay at a Disney owned resort. We will not return.
The Swan - posted on 11/15/2005
My family and I had a wonderful stay in The Swan. The room was nice, the people were great and the pool facilities were magnificent!! We chose to stay at The Swan because it was one of the only hotels in Disney that was in walking distance to parks and activities. When the kids got tired at night, we put on their PJ's and walked to the Boardwalk or Epcot. The only thing that needed improvement was the housekeeping. There were several days that we returned to our rooms in the late afternoon and the room was not cleaned yet. But, overall, our experience at The Swan was great!
Overall, a big disappointment - posted on 08/24/2005
Several problems with our room. One was the rooms are on a sensor so when there is no activity (like when sleeping) the temp. goes up. Couldn't sleep 2 nights because it was so hot & humid in our room. A tip- keep your a/c very low when you are in your room. A few on staff very friendly, but overall customer service wasn't very good. Almost seemed because you are at Disney, they didn't need to try too hard. Pool area is very nice. Overall, a big disappointment.
Environmental Hotel - posted on 08/19/2005
Because this hotel takes pride on being environmentally friendly, they do not have exhaust fans in the bathroom so there is nothing getting getting the steam cleared. The toilet takes a long time to go down when flushed. The shower water pressure is low. The air conditioner temp jumps to 72 degrees when you leave the room. The lights are set to dim when turned on and then brighten after a few minutes.
Nice Place - posted on 08/02/2005
Very nice place and staff. We asked for a room with a balcony when we arrived and were given a free room upgrade. Walking distance to Epcot, MGM and Boardwalk. Only negative is Lobby Lounge closed around 9 p.m. each night we were there. Not cool for those wanting a beer or glass of wine. Otherwise, no problems and would recommend to everyone.
Great hotel - posted on 06/29/2005
Bed was very comfortable. Fireworks woke me at 1 am one night and 12 pm another, but I didn't mind b/c after all, we were at Disney!!! We were there for the FBLA conference. What a pleasant experience! Never a dull moment. The room always felt "damp", but other than that, no complaints.

Great location! We stayed Club level and the food was great. I've stayed at three "Disney" resorts and the Swan beats them all! The staff is very friendly, pools are great.

Fitness rooms - posted on 04/01/2005
The Swan needs to give more attention to the physical fitness and locker rooms......sauna did not work (was never "put on" in the morning)....no bath towels were available. MEN'S locker room & LADIES locker room..... signs on both doors need to be addressed. Workout machines are adequate...room is too small based on number of guests potentially using the facilities...
Not baby friendly - posted on 03/23/2005
The hotel is good and has a lot of facilities. However, (shocking for a Disney hotel) it is not a infant friendly. It is a good hotel for couples or business travelers. However, the room lacks a fridge. There is no "common area" or room microwaves. Heating food for infants etc. is painful. The week we went was cold and we were shocked to discover they don't have any indoor swimming pools. The restaurants and room service are inordinately expensive. A simple pasta is $17! For lot less money you can stay in time-share resorts. Some of these resorts don't even do sales pitches. You just rent from them like you do in a hotel. They come with 2 bedrooms, dishwasher, microwave, cooking range and a even jaccuzzis in your room!
