Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?
Since the $10 million renovation there have been no complaints about the décor or the quality of the accommodation. This is now a very modern hotel but still retaining the charm of old Florida. A word of warning from previous guests: If you book a room with an ocean view you may be disappointed if a cruise ship is berthed in front of the property. The hotel is aware of cruise ship dates so it is best to check before you stay if you want an uninterrupted view of the Gulf of Mexico. Some guests enjoyed the lights of the cruise ships while others complained the sunset views were ruined by the ships lights.
