The 78 all-suites Residence Inn by Marriott at Mayo Clinic is connected to the clinic by an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway and provides short and long stay accommodation for clinic patients and their families. The three-story, non-smoking hotel offers one and two-bedroom suites that have a kitchen and separate living and sleeping areas. Items included with the room rates are an expanded continental breakfast, on-campus shuttle, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The property is close to the Jacksonville beaches, Mayport Naval Station, historic St. Augustine, Jacksonville Municipal Stadium and the University of North Florida.

The caring employees here get the good reviews. Most of the inn’s clients are either patients or friends and family of patients. For most of them, it is a difficult time and the compassionate help they received from the hotel staff was much appreciated. There were complaints that sometime rates were high. Word of advice from former clients: Get the best rate you can before you check-in. Residence Inn by Marriott at Mayo Clinic Accommodations

The one and two-bedrooms suites have separate living and sleeping areas. The kitchen has a refrigerator with icemaker, microwave oven, dishwasher, stove, toaster, silverware and crockery. Other features are a work desk with high-speed Internet access, dual-line telephone with voicemail, cable television with news and movie channels, pullout sofa bed, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board and a hairdryer.

The complimentary breakfast is the only meal served here. The inn does offer a grocery shopping service and there is a Courtyard by Marriott restaurant nearby which is served by the on-campus shuttle. There is a fitness center on site. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include copy and fax services, vending machines, a coin-operated laundry, valet dry-cleaning, picnic area with a barbecue grill and a gift shop and newsstand.

From Jacksonville Airport (JAX) 30 miles: Follow Airport Road to I-95 South, exit 126A (9A East). Take 9A until it merges with St. Johns Bluff Road. Take St. Johns Bluff Road south to Butler Boulevard east. Take Butler Boulevard east to the San Pablo Road exit. Turn left on San Pablo. Drive .10 mile, turn left into Mayo Clinic entrance. Make first right, hotel will be on your left.
