We atayed at the Radisson Airport hotel the night before our flight, and just as the many reviews stated..it was not a pleasant experience. The room smelled moldy, the mattress caved in at the center, it wasn't very clean and it was VERY noisy. I would not/never recommend this hotel even if you're desperate for lodging!

Third times a charm - posted on 02/08/2007

I've stayed here 3 times because I cruise with a group and it never gets better. Tiki bar by pool not open, ant in food, horrible bar service, slow check in. Shuttle service is nice. Won't be staying here again

Not very happy - posted on 01/26/2007

We stayed 1 day post cruise . We waited until after 5pm to be given a room that was promised at 3. Every 20 minutes we were told 5 more minutes. Then we were told we had a special room so it takes longer to clean. We were told they would come find us in lobby/ bar but never did. All rooms need a lot of updating! I confirmed our shuttle twice but was still wrong.

we found this Ramada through AAA on the internet. The convenience of the free transfers to and from the airport as well as the cruiseport were what originally attracted us but when we got there we were pleasantly surprised!!!! The food was excellent as well as the service. We will definitely be back next year!!!

This is a Ramada? - posted on 01/15/2007

We arrived in Fort Lauderdale and the hotel promptly sent us the shuttle. That was the beginning of the end. There is no elevator so our bags had to be carried up to the second floor. We had requested a rollaway bed, they were out of them , we were not even offered an extra pillow or blanket. The room smelled musty. We booked a room at another hotel since our cruise ship was delayed and WOW what a difference. For those people cruising please check the hotels closer to the Port. The service and attention is much much better. I would never stay at the airport Ramada again.

good stay - posted on 12/21/2006

Me and my family were happy we chose to stay here. It was cheap and we really enjoyed our stay. It was soo conveinient with the airport shuttle, breakfast and then shuttle to the port. And it was all free. The bartender was really nice and made our stay pleasant. We hope to take another cruise again soon and will be staying here!

I read lots of bad reviews and realized that at least 4 of the bad reviews pretained to another hotel, because firs this one is not on the beach, second, I could not been more pleased with the food, cleanliness and attention from the staff as well as how organized the shuttle transfer to the port was, and we were 140 people. I'll definnately be back and recommend the Hotel Highly for price, cleanliness and friendliness.

Fantastic - posted on 10/07/2006

Great value since other hotels were more money. We ate at the restaurant and the foood was good and cheap. This is not a beach hotel so iwe do not understand the other reviews that say there was sand in the rooms. Everything was super clean in the room including the bathroom! This is not a new hotel but for the money, we have not found anything that compares. And the free shuttle from the airport and port everglades is a bonus.

Bad Stay - posted on 08/26/2006

I have been staying in Fort Lauderdale Hotels for years; this was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at. I had to call the front desk twice about roaches and had to have my room moved. Trays to be picked up remained in the hall all day, there was sand on the floors, and room service did a very poor job. Staff was rude and didn?t care.

Good news: Staff very accomodating. Shuttle goes to and from the airport and cruiseport and will pick up or drop off on short notice. Breakfast(free with room) is very good. Bad news: Room was musty and no hot water for one of the two nights we stayed.

I just wanted to let you guys know that my stay at your hotel was great. The people were very friendly, and the hotel was very clean. The hotel was much more than we had expected since the price was so low. This stay was just after a vacation in the Bahamas, and I wish we had just stayed in Florida at your Hotel. Thanks a lot for making our last night of vacation as much fun as it could be.

Back still sore - posted on 05/12/2006

We stayed just for one night before our cruise, the rooms had a musty smell and my back was sore for 2 days after sleeping on the bed. They did get us to the port on time. Breakfast was okay and for one night it is do-able..but beware of the terrible mattresses!

Proximity to cruiseport is good. Hotel needs major update. Rooms are only passable. Lobby is much too small to handle crowd for cruise shuttle. It was chaos. Decided to take taxi after long wait. Good breakfast buffet.

Not too bad! - posted on 04/04/2006

My 3 friends and I stayed here the night before a cruise and were pleasantly surprised that the hotel didn't look as scummy as in the pictures online. Service was pretty good at front desk and in the restaurant. (My friend's chicken wasn't cooked all the way through, but they brought another one out plus gave all of us free dessert.) Overall, the room was really nice. Fridge and microwave in the room, plus the shower was awesome!

Love to travel! - posted on 03/14/2006

My husband and I travel often and we stayed here prior to our cruise. We were very impressed with the service. When we came in the lines were very long to check in but we the front desk was very understanding. They tried to get us in as quickly as possible. I have stayed at many hotels and I always enjoy my service with a smile. My husband and I enjoyed our drinks at the lobby bar and danced at the night club. We definitely recommend this hotel if you are going on a cruise. It is so convenient with the free airport and cruise shuttle.

my family had a great time here and a wonderful time on our cruise. they staff here was very friendly! we flew in late and the front desk helped us find a restaurant so we could eat. then we had a great big breakfast at the hotel and took the shuttle over to our cruise. we liked that the hotel was able to make our stay more comfortable for our cruise. ideal for cruising vacations.

Poor experience - posted on 03/12/2006

They changed the pricing after I had paid when I was leaving by $42.00! The room felt wet and the place was noisy all night. I called four times for restaurant service then finally just walked to order the food from the restaurant. I wouldn't stay there again, nor recommend it.

It was a fun but okay trip - posted on 02/26/2006

I really enjoyed the trip but the hotel shouldve had more recreational things to do. I had to walk off campus to really get into an activity because the hotel didnt have an arcade or so, it only had an poolhall and a swimmingpool which is fine but i wish it was more to do. I think the hotel could have an activity planner who takes the children out on a bike ride or something i mean to ride a scooter cost 60 dollars for one day! i know for sure you wish your customers can stay on campus and still enjoy theirselves but, after awhile the pool gets boring and time to go in and watch tv.

Modest Hotel - posted on 02/25/2006

Ramada is a modest hotel that has some excellent features: Free airport shuttle, free scrumptous hot breakfast buffet and free business center with internet access. However, for the older tourist, there is no elevator to the 3 floors of rooms. You must ask for the 1st floor at booking. Clean rooms with 2 double beds and a good shower is a plus. This hotel is located near most major interstates in Lauderdale. Room service menu is limited and inadequate.

Great staff - posted on 01/25/2006

We really can't make many opinions as we got to Ft. Lauderdale on the evening that Hurricane Wilma left. We couldn't find the motel that night in the dark, so we spent the night in our car.The next morning we found the motel and they did give us a room. Of course there was no electricity and no water until noon. They did set up a charcoal grill to cook hamburgers and hot dogs so we had some food. The staff was great, but we were surprised that we were charged for the night we weren't there.

Keep looking - posted on 01/09/2006

This is the highest on my list of bad hotels to stay at. We stayed there on the night before a cruise. Waited forever to get waited on in the restaurant and then the lettuce in our salad was brown. The rooms are scary and so is the area. Nothing to do and cabs are not cheap. Keep looking. We will never go back!

Pleasant Surprise - posted on 11/29/2005

We were pleasantly surprised with the neat and clean appearance of the hotel - even immediately after a hurricane. We were there over Thanksgiving, and had some members of our family whom reside in Florida meet us at the hotel. They are generally very fussy, and were overwhelmed by the cleanliness of the place. The rooms had recently been redecorated, and offer an ironing board, hair dryer, big t.v. and nicer furniture. Really a great deal for the money. Great for a cruise stay

Wilma - posted on 11/10/2005

It is virtually impossible to give the Ramada any rating as we got there the evening after Hurricane Wilma and could not find it as the sign had blown down, so we slept? in a parking lot. The next day, they did find us a room, but just a room. I'm sure they did the best they could under the circumstances, but was a little surprised that they did charge us the full amount of the room.

If you want a clean hotel this is not the hotel for you. The rooms were not clean especially the bathroom. Beware of the shuttle service they say its free but the shuttle service asked for $5.00 from everyone. If you have a rental car you are lucky because there is nothing to walk to. I'm never going back.

I asked for a hotel near the airport. It was not easy to get to. A friend who picked me up had to circle around several times until we located it. Otherwise, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was good, and the service was prompt.

Wonderful Cruising Hotel - posted on 08/16/2005

When we came in on the weekend it was very busy! The parking lot was full and the lobby had so many people! We thought it was going to be hectic but the front desk was very helpful and polite and got us checked in quite quickly. The breakfast was delicious, the potatoes were excellent! We had such ease catching the shuttle to the Port. My family and I highly recommend this hotel for your cruise accomodations! We will be back hopefully soon!

great improvement - posted on 07/29/2005

I had stayed in this Hotel about one year ago, and was pleasently surprised, to see the changes made. everything was improved from the rooms to the customer service. The only thing I think they have to improve is the womens' bathroom in the Lobby it is a little shabby compared to the Hotel in general. " Good Job" Will be staying here next year!!

Great stay - posted on 06/16/2005

Overall we were pleased with the service. Most employees were happy, cheerful and respectful. The woman working in the Tiki Bar was another story. She was not to happy when I interupted her personal phone call to ask if I could pay for our lunch. Another waiter told her I was waiting and her response was an eye roll and no thank yous. The inside bartender, the front desk clerks, the morning waitresses, and the housekeepers were exceptional.

It Ain't the Ritz - posted on 04/21/2005

Ideal for closeness to the airport and cruiseport and for those cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale. Rather isolated but close to major highways. Free breakfast was great, but dinner service was "gawd awful slow." They're fixing up the place and improvements seen. Long stays not recommended. Pool and Tiki bar are the only attractions.

very accomodating - posted on 04/20/2005

Was a great Cruise with a great beginning, the Hotel was great from the moment that we arrived to time that they took us to the pier, the rooms were clean, the service was friendly and helpful in everything, the food was very good and the atmosphere by the Tiki bar was superb, great drinks and a very amazing and friendly bartender. We had to wait just the right time at the airport to be picked up and the transfer to the Port was so smooth, I could not believe it with all the people at the Lobby.

We wanted a hotel close to the airport/seaport with transportation to both. We liked the location with a wonderful place to eat within walking distance and a good cafe on the premises. We were here only long enough to spend one night. It was a bit close to the highway which made it noisey but bearable.
