The 412-villa Marriott's BeachPlace Towers is a Marriott Vacation Club Resort located between the Atlantic Ocean beaches and Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway. The time-share villas all have two bedrooms and two bathrooms are situated above three floors of shops and restaurants. The beach is easily accessible across Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard. Items included with the rental rates are local telephone calls, high-speed Internet access and a morning newspaper. The property is within easy driving distance of several golf courses, the Las Olas Riverfront Entertainment District, Pompano Park Casino, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art and numerous shopping malls.

This is an ideal place for a family vacation. The villas can accommodate up to eight people. Tips from former guests: Rent beach chairs and umbrellas from the front desk, it will be less expensive that hiring them on the beach. And be warned that the approach to the resort from the parking lot, is not the most attractive part of the property. The refurbishment of the villas during 2008 ended complaints about the property looking a little tired. Price note: Parking costs $17 a day. Marriott BeachPlace Towers Accommodations

The two-bedroom, two bathroom villas have a private balcony and views over either the Atlantic Ocean or the Intracoastal Waterway and come with a separate living and dining area, breakfast bar and full kitchen. The master suite has a king-size bed, oversized bathtub with spray jets and separate shower. The televisions have cable movie and news channels and pay-per-per view movies. Other amenities include a VCR player, in-room safe, iron and ironing board, alarm clock, DVD player, washer and dryer, pullout sofa bed and hairdryers.

The resort has an outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool and health club. Marriott’s Harbor Beach Spa is a mile from the property. Room service is available around the clock and there are numerous restaurants within the complex and close by. Other amenities include a games room, concierge desk, on-site laundry, valet dry-cleaning, currency exchange, copy and fax machines available for guest use, vending machines, an ATM and a gift shop and newsstand.

From Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL) 5 miles: Take US 1 N, 1 mile to SE 17th Street. Go east on 17th Street for approximately two miles. The road becomes Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard (formerly State Road A1A). Continue north on Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard approximately 1.5 miles. The resort is on the left behind BeachPlace Shopping Mall. Enter the parking garage from either Cortez Street or Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard northbound. Take a ticket, and proceed to level P4 or P5.
