The 128 all-suites Residence Inn by Marriott Altamonte Springs Orlando is an upscale extended stay hotel catering to families on vacation and the business traveler. The two-story, non-smoking property is eight miles from downtown Orlando, 20 miles from Orlando International Airport and 35 miles from Disney World. Items included with the room rate are a full breakfast, high-speed Internet access, a manager’s reception on Monday through Thursday evenings, local telephone calls, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. One meeting room for business and social functions can accommodate 40 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include five golf courses, numerous shopping malls, the Orlando theme parks, Amway Arena, home of Orlando Magic, Wekiwa Springs State Park, Orlando Science Center, a Jai Alai fronton, and the University of Central Florida.

Families enjoyed the attractions near to this inn and they were close enough to go see Mickey at Disney World. It was also convenient for businessmen who had clients outside of Orlando. The spacious accommodations and friendly service got good reviews. For many the attraction of having a fireplace in Florida was something special. All the suites have a fully equipped kitchen with conventional and microwave oven, stove, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, toaster, toaster oven, coffeemaker and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, telephone with voicemail and speakerphone, pullout sofa bed, cable television with movie and news channels, hairdryer and an iron and ironing board. The bathrooms have a large vanity area and separate shower area. Many of the suites have a fireplace.

Amenities offered

This inn has an outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool and a sports court. There is a Bally’s Fitness Center a short drive from the hotel. Breakfast is the only meal served here but the inn does offer a grocery shopping service and the front desk has a list of restaurants that will deliver to the inn. Restaurants nearby include Bennigans, Red Lobster and a TGI Fridays. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a coin-operated laundry, copy and fax services, valet dry-cleaning, vending machines and a picnic area with a barbecue grill.

From Orlando International Airport (MCO) 19 miles: Take 436 approximately 20 miles to Douglas Avenue (Douglas Avenue is the first light after you cross over I-4). Turn right on Douglas Avenue. The hotel is located one block on the left.
