This town has many tourists and a lot of industry. Waterbury-I-84 is a research community with a strong manufacturing base and a long history of beautiful architecture. City Hall has an inscription above the front door that says Quid Aere Perennius. It means What Is More Lasting Than Brass and reflects the long history of Waterbury as a city of brass manufacturing. You can explore that history at the Mattatuck Museum. Waterbury Clock Company which is Timex probably is a familiar name to you. You can also visit Timexpo, a museum that tells the history of the company dating back to the mid-19th century. For outdoor lovers there's nearby Lake Compounce or golf courses. Yes, I would recommend the Hampton Inn in Waterbury, Connecticut to my family and friends. Its one of the best hotels in town. Its extremely pleasant with great amenities. The lobby and guest rooms are very clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Theres a nice indoor pool. This hotel is located close to 1-84 off ramp.
