Steamboat Springs’ only AAA Four-Diamond Hotel is located just steps from the gondola, shops, restaurants and activities at the base of the Steamboat Ski Resort. The hotel’s 327 rooms come in a variety of sizes from standard hotel rooms to studios and large, comfortable suites, to one-, two- and three-bedroom condos and penthouses, all with views of the mountains and ski trails or the scenic Yampa River Valley. The Cabin Restaurant features “high alpine contemporary cuisine” with a mix of aged prime beef, chops, native game and seafood served in a comfortable mountain cabin-like room. Chaps Bar and Grill, the hotel’s casual restaurant, serves comfort food and big drinks amid turn-of-the-century Western US cowboy memorabilia.

The guest rooms feature custom hardwood furniture, granite counter tops in the studio kitchens; televisions, DVD and VCR players, CD players, dual phone lines, complimentary wireless internet access, hair dryers, robes, ironing boards and irons. The studios include a Queen platform bed, Queen sofa sleeper, full-sized stove, oven, dishwasher and microwave; three-quarter-size refrigerator, dining nook and a full bath. Many rooms have whirlpool baths and gas fireplaces. Guests coming from lower elevations will appreciate the in-room humidifiers.

The large heated outdoor pool and two hot tubs that are open year round, just steps above the resort’s Gondola Squares, offer some great pool-side people-watching. The full-service fitness center includes a gym, steam room, sauna and day spa. The fitness center also offers yoga classes. Valet and bell services include complimentary ski and snowboard storage. The hotel also boasts 17,000 square feet of meeting or conference space, a 5,500-square-foot ballroom and 2,200 square feet of outdoor meeting or event space, including a 250-seat amphitheater.

From Denver International Airport: Exit the airport onto Interstate 70 going west. Take Exit 232 for US Highway 40 going west to Steamboat Springs. Take the Mt. Werner Road exit and turn right onto Mt. Werner Road. Proceed up Mt. Werner Road for 6/10 of a mile and turn left onto Mt. Werner Circle. Travel another 2/10 of a mile. The Steamboat Grand will on the right.
