The 65-room Holiday Inn Express Salida is close to the Arkansas River and provides quality accommodation at an affordable price for both the vacationer and the business traveler. Items included with the room rate at this two-story hotel are a hot breakfast buffet, freshly-baked cookies available in the lobby every day at 4pm, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, in-room coffee, a morning newspaper and parking. The property is located on Highway 50 near Highway 285. Area attractions include skiing at Monarch Mountain, rafting down the Arkansas River and the bike trails at San Isabel National Forest. The clean and comfortable rooms and an excellent complimentary breakfast were the main items that visitors enjoyed by staying at this Holiday Inn Express in Salida. There were some minor moans that the lobby was small and the hallways dark. Despite this the majority of guests said they would use this hotel again on future visits to the Colorado Rockies and had no hesitation in recommending the property to fellow travelers. The rates were reasonable and the cheerful team of employees provided friendly and efficient service.
