With the Rocky Mountains on one side and the desert land on the other, Denver is home to some fantastic scenery. This stunning natural backdrop exists wherever you choose to explore this wonderful city. Whether you’re a sports fan cheering for one of the seven professional sports teams or a sport enthusiast, you’ll find the perfect activity to enjoy the beautiful landscape that surrounds Denver. There are countless ski hills, running and hiking trails as well as great opportunities to do a little rock climbing. Denver is home to the nation's largest city park system, as well as 90 golf courses and over 650 miles of paved bike trails. And although it’s a great place to be active, it’s also a great place to put up your feet and relax.
Visit Colorado’s state capitol. You may think you’ve landed in Washington D.C. though as you’ll be amazed at how beautiful this domed state capitol is. As a tribute to Colorado’s gold rush days, the 24-carat gold plated dome can be seen around the city. Free tours are available and if you can, make your way to the top and get a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains and the bustling downtown area.
Any thrill seekers traveling with you? Then a visit to Six Flags Elitch Gardens Amusement Park is an absolute must. For sk8ters or those who wish they could, the Halfpipe is an amazing ride on a 39-foot snowboard that drops and zooms 360 degrees giving you the ride of your life, without the freezer burn. Make your way to Shake. It puts a unique ‘spin’ on a simple swing ride. And then there’s Disaster Canyon. A great way to cool off in the Denver heat – getting wet is a guarantee. There are over fifty rides to keep you entertained the entire time you explore the adventures at Elitch Gardens.
Animal lovers will enjoy a fantastic experience at the Denver Zoo. Home to 4,000 animals it’s a popular place for locals and visitors alike. See the rare Amur leopard, black rhino and Siberian tiger. Get up close to a dragon in the world’s largest indoor Komodo Dragon exhibit. Or you could visit Mshindi, a three-ton rhino who’s the world's only rhinoceros that paints with a brush. After a visit with Mshindi, you may feel like exploring the world of fine arts. Visit the Denver Art Museum, which houses an amazing collection of art from around the world. There’s also the Denver Performing Arts Complex, which is the second largest in the nation and provides theatre, symphony, opera and ballet performances.

Your evenings will be jammed pack, especially if you make your way to LoDo, Denver's Lower Downtown District. The 1900s warehouses have been converted into fantastic clubs, restaurants, art galleries and even a few bookstores. The streets are filled with jazz, blues, bluegrass and rock n’ roll so whatever your music preference you’ll find the perfect place to groove the night away.
Once you arrive in Denver, you’ll be amazed at how beautiful a city can be, especially with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop. Visit Denver and experience the sites and sounds that make it a unique and extraordinary place to discover.
