If you want to explore the movie capital of the world, this 262-room hotel on Sunset Strip maybe the place to stay. The Hyatt West Hollywood has provided rooms for many of those who work in movies and if you don’t see any faces you know here you certainly will in the bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel is fully equipped for both business and leisure traveler and much of the property has been recently been upgraded. The hotel is fully equipped to handle banquets and meetings. The Sunset Ballroom, located on the rooftop of the hotel, has floor-to-ceiling windows and has hosted many celebrity events. The property is located across from the House of Blues and close to Santa Monica Boulevard, the Pacific Design Center, Hollywood Boulevard and Rodeo Drive.

Yes, if you paid under $170 for the night and No, if you paid more than $250. Previous clients seemed more concerned about the price they paid than the service they received. Those who found bargain prices said it was a worthwhile place to stay those who paid high prices felt they paid far too much for a hotel that was not up to normal Hyatt standards. Plus points were the location, professional staff and good places to eat. Complaints about tired and dated décor will soon disappear once the current refurbishment program is completed. Hyatt West Hollywood Accommodations

The least expensive rooms are 284 square feet in size and come with a choice of one king size or two double beds and have views of the Hollywood Hills or Sunset Strip. Amenities include separate work area with Internet access, coffee maker, hairdryer, cable TV with videos on demand, in-room safe, iron and ironing board and dual line phones with voicemail. Room service is available during regular hours.

The hotel’s main dining spot is simply named The Restaurant and offers quality cuisine for breakfast and dinner both indoors and outdoors. Watch out for the stars both here and in the adjoining bar with its red leather décor. The newly renovated rooftop heated outdoor pool with sundeck overlooks the Hollywood Hills and the city of Los Angeles and is open from 6am until dusk. The fitness center opens at the same time and closes at midnight. The hotel has a business center, gift shop and has laundry and dry cleaning services. The 24-hour front desk offers currency exchange and car rentals and there are soda and ice machines throughout the property.

From Los Angeles International Airport (12 miles): Take Century Blvd. to La Cienega Blvd. and turn left. Proceed on La Cienega for about 8 miles. Pass the Santa Monica Freeway and Santa Monica Blvd. Turn right at Sunset Blvd. The hotel is on the left.
