Very friendly staff, wireless internet, good price, excellent facilities, liked the jacuzzi!

A nice place to stay during meetings at the convention center, a brisk mile or so walk after a free breakfast. Return to a kitchenete and large jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Clean and roomy computer connections.
A pleasant surprise - posted on 11/01/2006
My wife and I were leaving from San Jose early in the morning, so we booked a single night at the Arena Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel for the price. My wife stated that the next time we are in the area, we will forgo the larger chain hotels and stay at the Arena: I had to agree!

The Arena Hotel was a nice suprise when we first stayed and now it's our only destination when in San Jose.
Great Experience - posted on 01/20/2006
We spend a lot of time in hotel rooms - we average 6 to 8 days a month. Your hotel was very glamorous and the staff was wonderful.

I was very happy with the hotel, they have a very good staff, and the rooms are nice and clean.
Jacuzzi Central - posted on 05/14/2007
This hotel is centrally located and provides well equipped rooms and provides a very adequate breakfast and dinner meal. The jacuzzi bath is great, and the usage of YF in the rooms makes business easy to conduct. I would recommend to everyone and I do in fact do that.

Great place to stay, large room, internet connection, kids loved the jacuzzi, nice breakfast, friendly staff, close to everything. Would go back.

It was a pleasant experience: quiet, comfortable beds, spacious, great shower and nice to have a complimentary dinner as well as a breakfast when travelling on a budget. The decor was pleasant but now outdated. Able to park car easily and felt safe.

Immaculate property, Friendly and professional staff. Enjoyed a "real" breakfast, instead of muffins and a thimbleful of coffee. Overall very enjoyable.

Clean pleasant place to stay. Large room, kitchen in room but not needed due to free breakfast and dinner if you arrive before 7

Good hotel within walking distance to the San Jose Pavaillion. We really enjoyed the in room spa.

The room was clean, staff was very helpful, breakfast was very good for free. Nice big jacuzzi tub. Great price and only a block from HP Arena, great being able to walk to game and bars and back in a short distance. great value!
Arena at Christmas - posted on 01/01/2007
We arrived on Christmas day. The dinner at the hotel was the reason we picked this hotel. The room was clean. The staff friendly and helpful. Dinner was simple (two meat choices, potatoes, steamed veggies, basic salad, rolls, jello, pie) but suited all three of us. Breakfast was better than "continental". I'll go back if I ever go to San Jose again.

Very surprised - posted on 10/23/2006
Booked this place for proximity to Shark Tank, but was worried what we'd get. Very surprised by the extra clean, spaceous rooms, well-decorated lobby and included meals. Expected a few stale rolls for breakfast, but they had a full spread of food. Not gourmet, but better than 3/4 of the places I've stayed. Only negative is strong cigarette odor in hallways that thankfully didn't continue into the room. Don't let the low price scare you; this place is a great bang for the buck.
Clean and Comfortable - posted on 10/18/2006
I regularly stay at Arena Hotel when in San Jose for business. The rooms are large and very clean with the service being great. The only issue I have is the beds are a little too soft for me and the matresses could need replaced. Breakfast buffet is great to grab something before heading to work and the dinner buffet sufficient on evenings I need to stay in and work.
Great deal!!! - posted on 09/30/2006
What a great deal! Nice amenities, lots of choices for breakfast (not all carbs!!), good wireless connection and DINNER! Couldn't ask for a better deal! Have recommended it to friends, and will definitely use again~
Pleasantly Surprised! - posted on 09/27/2006
Room had more amenities than anticipated--very large jacuzzi tub, apt. sized frig, microwave, small cupboard (some rooms have 2 burner stoves!), quiet, comfortable beds. Courteus staff. Ample, on-site, safe parking. Breakfast and dinner! Only negative is non-smoking rooms smell like they were formerly smoking rooms--a little stale. I'm very sensitive but found it tolerable--would stay again.
Great Price - posted on 09/21/2006
The hotel was great. The first room I was in the tub wasnt working so I switched to a new room. New room was great. Breakfast was great as were the dinners. Simple but satisfying. Staff a little indifferent. Not really friendly. Good bargain, good location, safe, 2 blocks from the HP Pavillion.
What a Surprise! - posted on 08/29/2006
I liked the "old" charm of the place and the free breakfast was fantastic! The best layout I have ever seen. Dinner was fine also. The hotel was close to my business contacts and the room was large and comfortable.

We were surprised with the good quality room with bathtub and great price. The breakfast was a great touch. We will be going again.
Good for the money - posted on 08/22/2006
Good price for a hotel room for a one night stay. It was clean, but smelled like Pine Sol. The man at the desk was exceptionally polite. The room was large. The bed was a little too soft, like an overused beanbag cushion. The pillows no support and caused neck pain by the morning. The carpet was crunchy, but clean. The cleaning ladies stood in the hall and started chatting at 7:00 right outside our door. But the breakfast was filling in the morning and in spite of a crick in the neck, I was happy to have found this hotel.
Wonderful Hotel - posted on 08/21/2006
We were very happy with the Arena Inn. It was fresh and clean. We've stayed at a lot of of places, but none nicer. The only negitave thing was a slow drain and the hot tub in our room didn't work. I'm sure that if we had stayed a second night, that would have been remedied.

This hotel lived up to the comments I'd read about it. It was clean, quiet, friendly and offered lots of "extras" like a complimentary dinner reception and breakfast.
Great hotel for cheap partying - posted on 07/26/2006
Great hotel, comfortable rooms, friendly service. The continental breakfast was amazing, wide selection of food. The free dinner was excellent as well. There are also free cookies and fruit and popcorn in the lobby during the day. The service was extremely friendly, and I would love to return there for my next party.
Great Place - posted on 07/22/2006
I was truly impressed by this place and the PRICE. I stayed in a King Deluxe room for the price of a double at a large scale hotel and it was terrific. The room was spacious. It had a hot tub, full size refrigerator, microwave, extra storage, etc. I would definitely stay here again.
Comfortable but a tad noisy - posted on 07/20/2006
Full breakfast was very convenient and filling but could do with variety. Stayed 6 days and it got old pretty fast. The beds were very comfortable but the bathroom fan was very noisy and irritating. Complaining to the front desk did not result in much improvement - I think they are all noisy. Central location but quiet.
Not bad for money - posted on 07/20/2006
Looks nice outside - lobby nice - 1st room had overwhelming smell of cleaning supplies - but they moved us to another room. Room was clean. Jacuzzi tub is nice. Our room had a ceiling fan which was nice. Could hear room next door though and water pressure in shower was low. Hallways really smelled of cigarette smoke. Ask for 3rd floor room - that is their 'club floor' and rooms are a bit nicer. Don't count on breakfast - pretty meager. Good coffee place across the street with homemade muffins and stuff. Longs Drugs is right next door for water and snacks.
What a wonderful hotel! - posted on 07/15/2006
We loved this hotel, especially since we had stayed in a horrible hotel in Stockton, California nights before. What a beautiful and clean place to sleep!!
Pleasantly surprised! - posted on 07/06/2006
I was a little apprehensive about this hotel because it was so much less expensive than the others nearby. It was great! There was a fridge and a microwave in the room, free internet, the staff were very helpful, the hotel was clean and had more personality than many chain hotels. I couldn't believe that there was a free breakfast buffet and a free dinner buffet (the food could have been better, but it is hard to argue with free). If you are going to the Arena or to the Convention Center (20 min walk - safe at least during the day) then this is a great value.
Great Bargain! - posted on 06/27/2006
My husband and I stayed at the hotel as a little get-away and I loved it! It was clean and nice, not too ornate, just the right amount. The best part is definately the Jacuzzi tub. Overall I had a great experience and will be staying there again.

we travel worldwide, from 1 star to 5 star hotels, and were amazed at all the thought put into this gem-did they actually think of the traveller? what a rarity. Will return everytime we visit San Jose. Breakfast was great, front desk help competent, friendy.

5/30-6/4--VERY satisfied and comfortable...very good food and a great deal for the price. Nice jacuzzi and a lot of space in our room---since there was a "kitchenette", my only request would be to have some pans/dishes etc to be able to take advantage of the oven burners provided...very, very nice stay!!!

We stay there every time we go to a concert/AFL game. It is walking distance and it is pretty reasonable. Not many other hotels offer breakfast AND dinner. Love the jccuzie tubs and having a fridge in the room. I would and have recommended this hotel!

OK experience - posted on 12/19/2005
The hotel is an enjoyable place to stay. The staff is friendly and I love the bath tub! The only thing I really noticed on this stay (this is my third stay at your hotel) is this particular room seemed to be a little too "used." The ceiling fan made a horrible squeak all night and the furniture just seemed like it had taken a beating. Our stay was enjoyable, just not as comfortable as the last.
