In town island paradise - posted on 05/22/2007
If you get a room facing the courtyard/pool on the first floor it is perfect! Very clean, very comfortable, H/S internet. AWESOME Italian food in the restaurant! Very quiet. Like an island paradise. Will definitely be my hotel of choice in San Jose!
Not bad for the price... - posted on 05/18/2007
My first impression of the room was that it smelled stale...like a cheap motel. The cooler/heater was the wall kind...something I didn't expect. The best part, and the reason I will return, is the beautiful heated pool. My kids were happy with it and we spent all Sunday morning in it.

The shuttle to and from the airport was prompt and the drivers were courteous. The front desk staff was extremely helpful. They explained the use of the light rail and gave us maps to follow. The beds and linens were wonderful. The room was clean and I would definately staff there again. The location was just right for our needs. Hertz office at hotel and car rental was easily accessed.

Pros: Beautiful decor, very comfortable bed, room clean and well maintained. Grounds beautiful..Staff courteous and helpful. Cons: No elevator to second floor. Room smelled musty upon arrival. Service just a little slow.

From the pictures it doesn't look bad but in person it's obvious the hotel needs some serious updating. Room smelled terrible and was tidy but not clean. Didn't want to take a shower because the bathroom looked dirty. Fitness center looks like an army barrack and nothing in it works. The only plus this hotel has is that it's close to the airport. If you're totally broke, it's ok. If you're not, find another hotel.
One of the Best - posted on 03/04/2007
We stayed at this hotel for business purposes and were pleasently suprised. Everyone who worked there went above and beyond to make sure our large group of ten had transportation to wherever we needed to go. The rooms were clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The restaurant was exceptional. Check in and check out was easy. I would definatley recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel staff seems new and totally disorganized. They try hard but need help! We waited for over half an hour for a shuttle at the airport, only to find out we should have called ahead of time.(The desk clerk had told us it wasn't necessary to call, the shuttle runs every 30 minutes...). We were disappointed with the room. It was very small and faced a fence/road. Asked for a better room with inside view of the courtyard and were told it would cost an extra $30.00! After having waited for a shuttle in the cold we felt the least they could have done is offer a better room...
Great hotel/food - posted on 01/28/2007
The hotel had high end decor, great Italian restaurant, very clean room. Grounds are like an island resort in the middle of a very busy area. Super close to the airport. Staff was very patient and helpful. Also, very quiet.
A few kinks - posted on 02/06/2006
A few kinks.... the dining area didn't have a lot of choices. We opted to eat in the bar area - that was very good. The fire alarm went off 3 times during the night,(after midnight). The next day they warned people that it would be going off again that day. They have an old AC type heater/air conditioner which took a while to heat up and made noise the entire time you used it.

Is this really a Hyatt hotel? - posted on 08/23/2005
I stayed at this hotel for one night based on the Hyatt name and a recommendation from a friend. For a Hyatt hotel, I have to say I was very disappointed with the condition of the room. It was old and musty smelling and all the other amenities were subpar.
Bad news - posted on 06/15/2005
I was extremly dissapointed with the rooms. We were in the back half of the hotel, and we had no balcany, which was part of the selling point for us for this hotel.
Terrible hotel - posted on 06/01/2005
Traveling with a group on business, one of the group chose this hotel. Others who had stayed here warned me, but for convenience I stayed with the group. What a mistake. The hotel is shabby in the extreme. The rooms are musty smelling, the bathrooms are a mold and mildew petrie dish. I will not stay there again.
Unpleasant surprise - posted on 05/06/2005
I booked the hotel on-line without knowing what it looks like. I was horrified of this Hyatt facility appearance; the smell, the torn-out carpet, ... I cannot believe this hotel carries the name Hyatt!

I had a wonderful experience at the Hyatt San Jose. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and provided excellent service. I would recommend guests to stay at this hotel. Very conviniently located near the airport and downtown San Jose.
My experience... - posted on 03/28/2005
Not three stars, one star, or zero.. Parking is a nightmare. Rooms are dirty and in complete chaos. Pathetic attempt at a business room is broken office equipment and dozens of wires hanging out all over. Pictures missing from wall. Smells.
