The Edwardian is centrally located and close to all transportation (BART, Muni, F Line, taxis). The staff was friendly and accommodating, and allowed me to check in a few hours early. The tea rooms and lounges were charming. The rooms could have been a little larger, and it would have been nice to have an actual closet, rather than a clothing rack, however, the bathroom was great and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, a nice, clean hotel, and a great deal for the money!
Allowed me to check in when I arrived early, rather than normal afternoon time.

Friendly staff and free Internet. Old world charm. Toilet and bath separate from the room with entry from public hall. I had no problem with that arrangement, but I did have a problem with the fact that the toilet on my floor was stopped up and I had to go to a different floor. And then that floor's toilet became stopped up too. The room was tiny and the furniture was old. In general, the place was okay for a budget hotel and if you categorize it as one-star then I suppose that's accurate. On the other hand -- old world charm aside -- I'd probably have had a better stay in an admittedly one-star Motel 6.

This was a great place to stay, nice and cozy and friendly, too! I had no problems with anything! Free coffee! Internet access! Nice and quaint and well kept! Clean too!
I was pleased there were no roaches or bed bugs!
The front desk is not manned 24/7.

This budget hotel in central location offers all the basics for an enjoyable stay. Many visitors liked clean cozy rooms, spacious well-appointed bathrooms, reading room, complimentary newspaper and Wi-Fi, location and knowledgeable helpful staff. However, some guests were disappointed with stuffy dirty small rooms, in-room amenities in disrepair, unclean bedding and towels, internet and parking fee, tiny elevator and noise.
