This hotel has the charm of an intimate bed and breakfast inn right in the heart of San Francisco. It is ideal for a couple wanting to spend time away from the frenzy of hotel chains.
The ambience reminds you of an intimate country bed and breakfast setting.
Our room was adjacent to the noisy elevator and you can hear loud footsteps from the room above.

This hotel is very beautiful inside. They are very beautiful, yet very small. There is no space at all to use a laptop computer, so I highly recommend that business travelers stay away. The breakfast accommodations, wine/cheese service, free sodas and water, etc are definitely top-notch services.

Once I got over how small the room was. I could see the real beauty of historic hotel. The elevator was neat only have seen ones like it on TV.

There are only 26 guestrooms in the recently renovated Petite Auberge. No crowded lobby or elevators. Each of them is a tastefully decorated hybrid of French provincial and California chic; well-equipped for doing business or relaxing after a busy day seeing the sights of San Francisco. It’s easy to stay connected with high-speed wireless Internet access and voice mail with data port and easy to relax with a favorite movie or novel tucked into a cozy bathrobe by the radiant in-room fireplace with complimentary bottled water or a soda.

Petite Auberge is filled with unexpected delights. Start the day with a complimentary gourmet breakfast buffet served in the parlor. By afternoon, a platter of homemade cookies and tea are waiting. Both business and leisure travelers tend to rave about the pleasure of staying at Petite Aubuerge. What’s not to love about free breakfasts, homemade cookies and free wine and snacks? If there is any downside, it is that “cozy” Queen rooms are a bit small. It pays to spend a few dollars more for a Deluxe Queen room with a fireplace. If you are on a honeymoon, spring for the super romantic "Petite Suite." Another great plus to remember, ask the nice folks to book a personal tour with a volunteer Golden Gate local greeter when you make your reservation.
