Best hotel I've used - posted on 06/14/2005
The most comfortable hotel bed I have ever had. Quiet rooms, friendly service, with a house limo to take you places (but not pick you up). There is a 3rd phone next to the commode and a 2nd TV by the bathroom mirror! The restaurant has a limited menu, but it is well-prepared and reasonably-priced. My favorite hotel in San Francisco.

The Pan Pacific has very nice rooms. It is right near Union Square near all the action. However, you pay a price to stay at a nice hotel.
A great hotel - posted on 06/01/2005
This was a beautiful hotel with great service. What impressed me most was the bathroom...It was so large and clean I almost couldn't believe it. There was even a TV set in the bathroom. The only draw back was the noise from outside since the windows are single pane windows and not double. It bothered my wife and she couldn't sleep well....But everything else was fine...Another pluse was that it was near the transit system so I could go most any place....

The hotel was great; staff was attentive and the location is perfect where you can walk to almost all attractions. Don't park here though; parking was over $42 a day. Yikes
Spring remodel - posted on 02/21/2007
This hotel is slated to be completely upgraded to the usual high Marriott standard starting spring 2007. The bathrooms in particular will change from pedistal sinks to full marble countertops. We stayed in 2 different rooms for 3 days and one had a large bathroom and one had a smaller one. Ask for one with a separate shower and tub, they are much nicer. The service was very good, the concierges were very knowledgeable. They steered us into some very nice local restaurants. Don't eat at the hotel; there are too many great places within a 5 min walk.

Having been a big fan of the old Pan Pacific, it's now better as a Marriott.
The best of the best - posted on 05/15/2006
Am somewhat of a senior world traveler who appreciates good service and good food. Excellent dinner menu (don't miss the rack of lamb), first-rate breakfast buffet with wide variety of hot and cold food. Concierge? Superbly knowledgeable and helpful.! Rooms large and comfy. Baths must be most beautiful in SF with floor to ceiling Portuguese marble and a tiny TV to enjoy the morning news while shaving. Would describe the hotel as sheer magic alll 'round.
Great Hotel! - posted on 05/09/2005
This hotel is FABULOUS. The glass elevators were fun, the concierge was extremely helpful, room service was prompt, maid service was excellent. Make sure you eat in the restaurant downstairs! Car service also exquisite.
