Hotel Rex is an intimate boutique hotel located in the heart of San Francisco's theater district. Shoppers will be happy to know that shopping is just one block away at Union Square, home to Saks, Macy's and many other fine shops. Guests may enjoy strolling down to the waterfront at the Embarcadero. At the Ferry Marketplace, there are numerous delightful shops where one can indulge in their culinary pleasures. No trip to San Francisco is complete without a trolly ride to Fisherman's Wharf where visitors can enjoy clam chowder in a bread bowl. From here one can see the walled island of Alcatraz. Ferries will shuttle visitors to the island, however reservations are usually required. Hotel Rex is a five minute walk from Chinatown. Guests will be transposed to another world as they walk through the gates. Here guests can enjoy dim sum, watch fortune cookies being made or shop for pearls.
