Customer Reviews for Best Western Civic Center Motor Inn

Average - posted on 10/22/2005

The front desk/office was closed and I had to wait till someone showed up, to check-in. Breakfast area very small, in an already small office (nowhere like the photo). Room was clean with renovated bathroom/shower. Very average at best. I would not stay there again.

The place was smelly. The didn't speak English. We did not get the rooms we ask for.

Great Value - posted on 11/12/2006

This was a great value in a very pricey city. The rooms were excellent and very clean. The location was perfect and within walking distance to Mission and Market Streets. The staff gave great directions and went above and beyond to make our stay as nice as possible.

Enjoyable Stay - posted on 09/06/2006

With clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, free parking, free high speed wireless internet and a free, but small, breakfast in the lobby, the Best Western Civic Center Inn was a great place to stay to be within walking distance of the Moscone Convention Center for the Public Speaking convention held in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. The in-room internet made it extremely convenient to stay in tune with work while being away from the office. This was a quick trip to San Francisco, but for future vacations, I will be staying here again. Hope this review helps!

Great place to stay - posted on 08/22/2006

I chose to stay at the Best Western Civic Center Inn because of its close proximity to an active nightlife. With clubs in the area and restaurants scattered here and there, I always found active social scenes with the convenient option of returning to my quiet hotel room. Visiting the major tourist attractions wasn?t at the top of my list, but Union Square was only a ten minute ride away. The rooms were spacious and the staff was friendly. The free parking was a nice plus. This was a great place to stay at a reasonable rate.

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE - posted on 07/19/2006

No A/C. Room smelled like smoke. Windows have no screens or way to stop anyone from breaking into your room. After a long day of work, who has time to search fo another hotel. This is the 2nd worst hotel I have ever endured.

I won?t go back - posted on 06/20/2006

When we were checking in we asked what restaurants there were, the Indian lady wanted us to have our first lunch in CA at burger king. They have no AC, no breakfast room like pictured, watered down juice & pre packaged muffins and bagels with no flavor, bad customer services. Not a nice neighborhood, scary area. We ended up moving to a different hotel. Spend a few more $$ and get a nicer room somewhere else.

Better than you would expect - posted on 02/13/2006

I needed just a place to sleep between the end of a late seminar and beginning again early the next morning. I found no issues here except that I couldn't get the air conditioner to come on. The room had a ceiling fan, and I left it on low for the night. The windows were fixed so they could not open beyond a few inches, but I wanted them closed to shut out traffic noise. The continental breakfast was nothing more than juice, coffee, and packaged muffins and bagels. Could have added yogurt.

Discouraged! - posted on 01/20/2006

I arrived at the hotel to find out that it was across the street from a mission for homeless. The homeless were all around the establishment. I did not feel safe. Next, the hotel room had no heat. I had to ask for the heat to be fixed 3 times; the heat was never fixed. They gave me a electric heater for heat. I could not sleep; my cousin died in a hotel in Greenville SC because of fire. I was amazed that anyone knowing the conditions of this motel would use their name to advertise it. I have been staying at Best Westerns for 35 years and always considered them good places to stay but this motel, changed my mind. I was truly disappointed. This motel gives Best Western a bad name.

The price was right, but not much else. Very noisey, terrible pillows, and a marginal location. Staff was nice, parking wes free and available. Do some sound proofing and get some decent lines and this would be great.

Poor Stay at the Best Western - posted on 01/11/2006

We had no towels on checking in, front desk would not answer, had to go down and ask. Rooms were extremely noisy due to other guests who partied late. Beds were awful. We won't go back.

Overall, the place is well maintained but fairly average for a Best Western. Access and parking are the best features.

Don't count on finding anywhere to eat nearby. The "on site" eating facility was a small asian style that was only open breakfast and lunch. If you are a non-smoker make certain to get non-smoking room. There is no air conditioning and on a warm day the smoking rooms smell pretty bad.
