Customer Reviews for Britton Hotel

Oldie but Goodie - posted on 04/20/2007

I loved the hotel. It was old but comfortable. The front desk lady was very accomoding. My daughter loved the soft pillows. There was a place to eat accross the street and pizza downstairs.

Interesting Hotel - posted on 08/21/2006

Well situated, price is good. A little bit noisy (7th street). They didn't ask us if we want a smoking or non smoking room and put us in smoking room. We had to ask for change (awfull smell). Breakfeast is not included. You have to cross the street and go to Americana Hotel for it.

Excellent Hidden Bargain - posted on 06/28/2006

From the outside you may be fooled but this is a nice place in a convenient location. It's clean & a reasonable size for a San Francisco hotel. You're 3 blocks from the Musconi Center! This is a bargain that I'd use again for business or pleasure.

Not bad. - posted on 05/15/2006

Like everyone else has said, this is a good hotel in a location that is slowly improving. There are two big named hotels next door and a hugh new building going in across the street. So at some point, this will be a good location. During the day it seems okay, but at night, you have to walk three blocks to get to an area that you feel safe in. On a plus side, it is really close to Mission and a F-Line station. Still worth the money.

Better than expected! - posted on 05/15/2006

My friend and I had a great stay here. The room was nice and tidy, the bathroom a bit small, but good service from the front desk. There are quite some homeless people hanging around in the neigborhood, but I still felt safe. There is a free shuttle going from the hotel to union square till late in the evening (11 or so). This extra service is great! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Bad hotel - posted on 05/08/2006

Please dont stay here, the pictures has nothing to do with reality. Bad choice, bad neighborhood and too expensive for what it really is

nice place, bad location - posted on 09/05/2005

This is actually a really nice hotel. Their parking is cheap, and the prices for the rooms aren't bad either. The inside of the rooms are very nice, but the shower is stiflingly small. the worst part about this hotel, though, was the location. There are homeless people everywhere around this hotel.

Must Enjoy Noisy Street! - posted on 09/01/2005

If have the room facing Mission Ave. be aware there's noise all night and construction in the a.m. I imagine if you're there in a heat wave it'd be torture since there is no air-conditioned rooms! Luckily it was cool when I was there...Neighborhood looks scary with tons of street people but if you walk 3 blocks towards Union Square it gets much better! Better to go with friends.

like a hostel - posted on 08/14/2005

At first my girlfriend and I were a little worried about the area in which this hotel is located. To combat our warriness of the neighborhood, we mostly drove and parked in the lot across the street. This was a little difficult at times, because the lot would often be overflowing with cars, but the valet would always find us a place. The hotel itself was quaint, but we had two SINGLE beds in our room.

Homey - posted on 07/04/2005

I stayed there for 3 nights and i loved my room. Even thought the outside of the hotel doesn't seem like much but the inside is wonderful. It has a warm, homey feel to it. My room was clean and refreshing. I would definitely stay there again.

Great room for a great price. - posted on 06/28/2005

The neighborhood surrounding the Britton isn't exactly savory, however it is mild compared to most other areas on the other side of Market. We had no problem walking around at night. Be sure to request an interior room to avoid the construction noise. The pizza joint in the lobby is delicious and inexpensive. Rooms have no air-conditioning although an open window and the ceiling fan are more than enough for the 60-degree weather in SF. A great little hotel in a city notorious for dives.

Clean and comfortable - posted on 01/16/2005

Our room at the Britton Hotel was clean and comfortable and we had an enjoyable stay in San Francisco. We were grateful for the free transportation and we also appreciated the convenient, reasonably priced parking for our car.

Not bad - posted on 12/05/2004

The wall was about three feet further than the double bed, which seemed small even for my 5'4 frame. Ask for the larger rooms, which may exist beyond the realm of myth. It's fair play in this age to photoshop the photos, but the decor seems a bit chintzier in actuality. Plusses: cheap parking w/in/out privileges, immaculate bathrooms (sans bathtub), friendly service, good central location. A bit overpriced, but perhaps that is just San Francisco.

If You Are On A Budget This Is A Good Place - posted on 10/26/2004

I stayed with 3 people. I thought we would have a twin and a double. The beds were okay. The noise from the street loud and the area is sketchy. If you are up for an adventure and you are on a budget this is a good place to stay.
